2. Langhorne & Meyer [1]
Hello listers Does anyone know anything of the photographic firm of Langhorne & Meyer? I understand that one of the partners, a Frederick Meyer, won the competition for the design of the Walhalla Mountaineers Brass Band Rotunda in 1896. Was this firm located in Walhalla, or elsewhere? Did Fredrick Meyer design other buildings, or was this a one-off? Any information much appreciated. Regards Anne Napier
3. Re: [AVG] Pleydell family query to Shirley [1]
Jeremy just a short note my Stepfather was Ross Pleydell his parents were Sylvia & Lincholn Pleydell. Lincholn & his family was From Maffra. Ross died in 1991, he is buried at B/dale. I know one of my stepfathers cousins had about 7 kids, they would be all aged from about 32yrs onwards, names I'm sorry I don't remember. Sharon
4. Re: [AVG] Can you identify this town??? [1]
Just an oddball thought. Something that has happened more than once in the past - the negative being reversed during the printing process? Several people have said it looks like Wonthaggi (?) but the railway line is on the wrong side. If the neg has been reversed that would produce that effect. the older of the tworobbos

Much has been said in the press about National Parks not being "Cow Paddocks". They seem to forget it was a "Cow Paddock" long before being a National Park. If they want to do something about preserving the wilderness get the ski tows off the mountains. Only by going to the Public Records Office in North Melbourne David. If you are there early enough and order it in, you can get it the same day. The staff will lead you through - they are great. Thanks to all who offered help and suggestions. Re the two entries for Arthur INSEAL on the ADFA database - Arthur was hospitalised in Egypt (sick) and returned to Australia, and on recovery went back to France - hence the second entry from the embarkation rolls. Hi Jan There is another person researching David Nolan from Talbotville I am not sure if you have been in contact with her Notes from her David NOLAN. He supposedly was born 1871 in Kilmoyly, Co Kerry, but I also have a reference to Ardfert. Perhaps that is where he was registered/christened. My David married Alice SIMS in 1872 in Omeo. He died in Talbotville (or Sale) in 1912. His father was also David and I believe he died in Talbotville too in 1894. His wife was a Catherine HOLOGHAN (with umpteen

14. [Admin] List is on moderated [1]
Hi Everyone, This is to advise you that the list is on moderated for a short time until everyone has read their mail and understands that any further political discussion is unacceptable. It can be a trap to respond to posts as soon as we open them, without reading to the end of all our posts and seeing the whole conversation before posting. I will be forwarding on-topic posts, and will advise you as soon as it is again unmoderated. Anyone posting on the subject after that does so at their own peril
