Hello Doug,
I looked at the Death CD's 1921-1985 and there is not a Thomas Riley who
died in 1933. The earliest Riley to die was 1937, and that was not
gippsland.
regards,
Lorene

Hi to all listers,
My husband volunteered at the Kilmany Park Boys Home. He lived in Sale from
1969 to 1973. I believe he/they were building a model train track, but I never
went there myself, and cannot remember any details. I think the boys may have
been in their mid teens then.

Hi David, thanks for your reply.
I am very interested.
We are trying to track down some information about my great grandfather.
He and my great grandmother separated and the family over lost track of
him over time.
I heard that the theatre burnt down. I believe he was involved with some
time before the separation.
I would be interested to know what it was like. If a copy of a photo,
scanned or otherwise was available that would be great.
I would also be interested knowing/confirming (considering it would h

Dear Guy,
There sure was a Picture theatre in Korumburra. Unfortunately it burned down
many years ago. I actually watched it burn. My parents woke me and we went
up to the Railway station, which overlooks the site. This was very sad at
the time.. still is. Although it was no longer a picture theatre at the
time. It was converted to a Roller rink. Those are my main memories of it,
and the pigeons and a small record shop in the front section. I have some
photo's , I'll have to find them though. My

Hi List,
I am looking for details on the death of a Thomas M Riley who died 13/6/1933 in South Gippsland area. Could SKS please find me a Cert No on this person. I can assume that by dying in 1933 he must be registered.

Hi Margaret
Thanks for doing that work. I actually had the rest of the family but for
some reason had never looked for David in Australia.
Last week at the State Library in Sydney I found ( in the deposit journal
index) that John Munro who married Martha Gillan ( see below) put up
immigration deposits for
1 Margaret Munro , see below she married James Gillan
2 David Munro, he is the one I'm now looking for (four possible marriages
in Vic so I'll buy his death certificate to help solve this)

Hi John,
I have just spoken to an old resident of Sale who told me the following
(though please dont take this as gospel!) He thinks that the home started in
the 1930's by Rev Logan a presbyterian minister and that once all the Logan
Family were gone it passed to the Presbyterian Church. Eric Frith ran the
place for a long time according to my source but the property has now been
subdivided and is privately owned.
Not sure how much help this is,
Good Luck

Hello everyone,
I am interested in finding out some information about a picture theatre
that I believe was in Korumburra around 60-75 years ago. I have a
great-aunt that is still alive who remembers the theatre but not well.
She is now 79.
I believe that my great-grand father Edgar Percy Rowson (b. Fitzroy
04/06/1884) or my great-great grandfather Percy Dean Rowson (b. ~1861 in
the UK) may have owned/operated it at some stage.
Edgar Percy was apparently a Baker/Pastrycook by trade and had a
