Yesterday I accessed a couple of fiche for directories of Bendigo
1852 ..Diggings (Author unknown)
1859 ..Bendigo (I Thorold Tullock)
I was looking for references to Charles LACEY butcher which I found in the latter.(White Hills)
Does anyone know of any other directory for the period before ie < 1859 or immediately after?

I am reposting my interests in the hope there is someone currently doing research on Hector McDonald who lived in the Heathcote, Avenel, Shepparton areas prior to his death in Beechworth. He was born in Scotland and lived in Victoria in the late 19th century.
I have a great deal of information on Hector, his families etc. but I am not related in any way.
Would be pleased to share my research if it will help solve a "huge mystery".
Looking forward to hearing from anyone interested in the McDonald clan.

Hello Mandy,
You can do this yourself if you wish. Buy about 3 nice sandy coloured
paving stones 8 to 12 inches square. Stick them on top of each other with
"no more nails" or similar. Go to one of those shops that engrave and make
trophies and ask them to engrave what you want on a square of gold (or
other colour) plastic with black lettering. Stick this on
