Hi Folks
I have decided to take on the gathering of information on the women of Portland having ascertained that no one else is doing so. So if you have any Portland women who signed the petition give me a potted history please. Just a few lines with the main facts.

If anyone has an ancestor in the family tree who lived in the area or who went to the school, or if you can give me any information on the area, I would be pleased to hear from you.
Cheers

Melbourne Uni Archives holds the papers of several Victorian Law firms. While googling the TERJESENs of Port Fairy I came up with the papers of J.W.Powling & Co 1850-1959. This firm was in Port Fairy and if you click on it you will get lists of the wills they held and all sorts of other goodies. I was surprised at the distance people would travel to visit their lawyer/solicitor. The wealthy Hood an
