Hello Chris.
Do you happen to have class rolls for the early years of the school? I
believe my mother-in-law attended the Lakes School. She was born Ila
Florence RYAN and I am guesstimating she would have been there about 1920.
Best wishes for a successful weekend.

Linda,
A number of ANDREW children attended the Colbinabbin West State School -
No. 1218. around 1914-1920. The building still stands but is now a
private property. The Colbinabbin State School mentioned by Margery
WHITHAM is still in the township - No. 3936.
On the Parish Map - Colbinabbin - Lot 40 - MA & RDK ANDREW had 179
acres 2 roods & 13 perches. The Public Records Office fractioned
number 21/12. I think 12 may refer to the Land Act. There may have
been more land in another adjacent Pari
Sue and Robert have asked that we pass this around. They are to be commended
for the great work they are doing.

Linda,
I never thought I would see the day when Colbinabbin was mentioned in the
List! Although I cannot help you with Dr. Andrew I can tell you that
the school was in existence in 1988 because I actually visited the school to
see where I was a pupil in the early 1940s.
Someone who has helped me in the past is Loretta McPherson of the Euroa
Farmers Arms Hotel Museum. Her email address is retmcp@mcmedia.com.au and
I am sure she will gladly help you if possible.
Good luck!

Hi Robyn!
Sorry about the delay in replying to your message. I only receive the list
in digest format and it doesn't get sent very often. Have only received it
today.
To answer your question, we do have the student registers from 1911 up to
the 1970's. They are on a CD ($5 plus postage) but I don't have one handy to
check for your mother-in-law. If you give me a couple of days I will do
that for you.
We had a great few days of celebrations. Lots of media coverage, fab
weather (except Sat morning) and
Hi Everyone,
I'm not sure if this list covers Colbinabbin (between Bendigo and
Rushworth), it seems to fall between a few.
It appears that Dr James Moore ANDREW (born 1899 near Kyneton), spent
at least some of his life at a property called "Burculey", some time
in the 1914-1916 period, possibly earlier. His father died in 1908 at
Bendigo, and he was the eldest of six children, so he may or may not
have been with family. His mother's maiden name was SHEKLETON. The
family had previously lived at Kynet
