5. [AUS-VIC-West] Will Will Rook Cemetery index [1]
Will Will Rook is located near Broadmeadows. I had to choose which of Angela's work to put up before I went on leave and this one was the winner. You lot that are waiting for the Keilor marriages are just going to have to be patient. Please note that I have no more than you see on the web for these indexes. I did not do the research, I only built the page. There is no point in asking me to look up or find any thing else. I know very little about either of these areas and I can not give advise on whe

12. [AUS-VIC-West] PRESERVING PHOTOS [1]
Hooray -- I have found some ancestors - but in photos. Can some one tell me what is the best thing to do with old photos - these are 1910? I would like them printed out as near as possible to perfect - is this possible with modern technology? Where do I go and what do I ask for? Probably what is more important does it cost an arm and a leg? - some are quite large. Many thanks Joy
13. Re: [AUS-VIC-West] Mr Black Mt Noorat and Terang 1840-1850'S HELP NEEDED [1]
The Niel Black ((1804-1880) family descendants are still at Mt Noorat. Niel Black was a pioneer, pastoralist and politician. There is a detailed, very small print, one and a half page entry about him in The Biographical Dictionary of the Western District of Victoria edited by Gordon Forth. There is mention of Black's various agricultural enterprises over a period and mention that he avoided employing convicts but was known to employ aborigines. If you are unable to get a copy of the book I am happy to p

Dear Beryl, I wish it was me popping into History House (where ever it is). I only WISH and WISH again but it will be a while yet before we can get down south. We came to your country several times during our early days of research and loved it of course. There are only two places I want to go now, besides Windsor N.S.W. and that is to the Western District and/or Tasmania. As Matt was laid up for 3 months, he has to catch up. It does not look like we will make it until he retires June next, 2002 (should we

19. [AUS-VIC-West] Re Commonwealth War Graves [1]
Hi Beth, Thanks for showing this site. I've spent about two hours going through and checking names. My Father and his brother were both killed in 1944, Dad at the start of the year, and his brother Jo in december. It makes you stop and think how gratefull we should be to these young men who gave up their lives so we can live in peace. It must have been devastating for their parents, wives and families. I know that it still makes me sad even though I never had the chance to see my Dad. How precious fam

I need help with Penshurst knowledge from fellow searchers. My REECE connections were in the area 1860 onwards. Sarah REECE ran the Purdeet PO and exchange [near the railway siding in Chifley's Lane] for many years helped by Freda Edlich. She may have been Sarah Callaghan?? Where would I find records? James REECE married a GUDE and is buried in Boram Boram cemetery. He must have worked on a local station [farm not train]. He had 2 daughters - Dorothy and Letitia. GUDE is a German name. Is there an Hi
