Rembering My Great Uncle Pvte John O'Grady ,60th Battalion AIF, No 4192, who was killed at Poiziers, France, 19 Jul 1916, aged 23 years. He died in the famous battle at Fromelle where 1200 Australians died. The cemetery is the only group cemetery in WWI and is 2 km from Fromelles. He is in (V.C. Corner No. 21), maybe. Check out the web site where you can down load this song . OTTAWA -Terry Kelly based his song, "A Pittance of Time," on a personal experience he had on Remembrance Day 1999. The Canadian singer-songwriter feels deeply about the two minutes of silence that all Canadians share on Remembrance Day. "I was in a drugstore on November 11, and ther

19. Anzac Day McGARVIE [1]
In Loving memory of my Gt Uncle, 2 Lt Hector Archer McGARVIE, killed in action 9 July 1917 at Ypres, Belgium, buried at Dikkebus. Hector was one of those ex-Geelong Grammar boys who was "rounded up" late in 1916 when the UK was running out of young men for Officers (or cannon fodder). Thus he was killed as a member of the British Army and, as with so many others, there is no record here in Australia of these young men's deaths. Also in memory of my Grandfather, Pte.
