A public meeting was held in the local hall on the night of Friday, the 6th inst. to inaugurate a branch of the Peoples Party. Mr. G. MUEGEL, who was voted to the chair ably filled that position. Mr. Harold SMITH, of Lower Norton, addressed the meeting at some length, describing in detail the objects and policy of the party. After some discussion it was decided to at once form a branch. Mr. MUEGEL after much persuasion consented to be president. Mr. ASPLIN who is a very ener

Hello all listers,
I have just found out about my grandmother Mary (Molly) Slater who married Septimus (Bill) Newcombe. I am now hoping that someone out there might have some more information that might help me to fill in some spaces.
Mary was born 12 October 1918 and died Jan 1981.
Her parents were Alfred Slater who died 23 March 1951, and Susan Donhue. They lived and died in Colac.
You can email me at, hallyburton@austarnet.com.au

Thanks Chris,
The Carracher's formed the basis of the Minimay Cricket Club and won many
matches, they had a great rivalry with the Booroopki Cricket Club and a lot
of Carracher's played in that club as well.
The Minimay Historical Group would be interested in your postings to the
list. I think the Pretlove Family of Booroopki who live on a small parcel
of land near Lake Charliegrark are interested in the History of the
district. Does anyone on the list have contacts with anyone in Minimay or

Our Family
Hello Daryl and others
I have had no trouble with the free level of School Friends and have been
looking in on it for a few months. I've found it great for checking out old
friends from the numerous schools and tertiary institutions both in Victoria
and interstate in which I've been involved as a student and a teacher. It
was pleasing to find quite a few of the older vintage involved!
