Could SKS tell me where to write to find out if John Whisker was sent to WA as a convict. He was tried at Norfolk Quarter Sessions, Swaffham, on 14 Jan, 1852, and sentenced to 10 years, for stealing a shovel. (I have several shovels in my garden shed- hereditary perhaps?) John's older brother, William Whisker, my ancestor, was sentenced to 10 years transportation in 1842 and sent to Tasmania and all Whiskers there are his family.
Thanks in advance,
Royalene, Wyong, N.S.W.
Thanks Micheal for making my words more readerble. Jonas' life from his
daughter's decendants have been published by my late Uncle Charles Lawrence
Fox in the book Rosevale, Pemberton. The Early Years, in 1995.

Hi Barbara
He may have been sentenced to transportation but had
the sentence commuted to a lesser period in
the UK. He may have been transported to the eastern
states or some other Penal colony of the time and
escaped, possibly given an early release?
Finding out which is going to be difficult and time
consuming. Also records for this are likely to be
found more likely in England. Best of luck. I still
haven't found one of my convicts 1st sentence to
transportation like yours nor his place of birth
