Hi,
Sorry, I can't help you out with your search. You mentioned looking up the Austrian military records at the family history center. Do you know if these records are actually on microfilm? I am also looking for information on somebody that was in the Austrian/Hungarian military. Thank you for your help.
Bobbi

Shelly, I do wish I could help you. I was there to assist those looking for family, but never kept track of any names. I have found nothing about the event except for your answer and I do wish I would hear from others. I am sorry, but keep trying.

Maybe you could help me at the same time. My father came to Canada in 1956 as far as I know, and passed away in 1992. I am now trying to locate anyone from his family in Hungary, but do not know how to go about this. His name is Tibor Csoke--maybe he is someone you helped also. Please let me know if you

I have a copy of a reply from the War Archive to a query about a World War I
Hungarian / Slovak soldier.
The reply ways that they now will only do 1/2 hour of research free. After
that it costs 28 Euro per 1/2 hour. They estimate that looking at all of
the applications for medals, citations for individual soldiers ( the soldier in
question had a medal) and all of the casualties, missing and POW reports for
that regiment will take 1 1/2 hours.
The fee is the same even when nothing is found.

I am an author at work on a book in which a significant character is a Lele von Harrenreich who lived in New York in the first half of the 20th Century and claimed at various times to be the daughter of a Colonel and a General in the Eleventh Dragoons of the court of Franz Joseph. His name has been variously rendered as Aloyios L. von Harrenreich and Alois von Herrenreich. I have been attempting to confirm her claim and wonder if any members of this group have ever heard of him. His daughter was apparently

I have learned that Felix Gundacker may not do research in the War Archive in
Vienna.
There is another researcher I should have mentioned and I know this man does
War Archive research and he has lived in Vienna so he knows German. He is
also set up for foreign clients to pay for his service via credit cards.

Karen,
The EEGS web site lists an article by you in their Vol 11 No. 2 Winter
2002 titled:
Recruiting Rules of The Austrian Army. Seems to be only one article.
What

There are over 2600 films of Austrian Military records in the Family History
catalog at the LDS web site (familysearc.org).
There are an additional 1200 uncataloged films in Salt Lake City being slowly
added to the Internet catalog.
At present the Internet catalog is pretty hard to search. The Keyword and
subject searches are not working. The indexes depend on subject searches and
they will show you one title in a given index category when there are actually
many titles. So do not believe that
