Correction: The Ayer family appeared in the 1865 Illinois state census.

I have been searching for Elizabeth Paine Ayer to try to ascertain how she
got that name Paine inserted as a middle name but came up dry, although I
did find her family, no Paine connection that I can find.
Do you have anything on her along those lines?
