I also just signed up for this list. My Ayer line moved to Berkeley,
California, about 1876 from New York state. I haven't found much information
yet from the pre-California days.

I have just, recently, subscribed to this list as well. I'm a descendant of
Elijah Ayer. We have, actually, traded e-mails before, but I just thought
I'd let you know that I'm on this list. I do have a question for you though,
are you aware of another Elijah Ayer from Westmorland County, NB that
married Jerusha Hicks? Where does he fit into the family?
