24. Lucy Ayres [1]
I would love to have any information on Lucy Ayres, born 10/5/1778 and died 11/4/1861. She is buried in Greenwood Cemetary in Brooklyn, New York. The plot was purchased by John P. Moore born in NYC on 12/29/1799 and died 8/27/1881 in that city. The column in the plot holds the inscription Lucy A. Moore, leading to the speculation that Lucy Ayres married a Moore and was possibly John P. Moore's mother. She was buried in the plot on 4/6/1862, so she was most likely buried somewhere else for a short time.
25. New to list [1]
I am in the early stages of researching Ayres of AMERSHAM and PENN, Buckinghamshire, and posssibly of THAME, Oxfordshire, in the 19th century.. No previous record of related Ayres in Amersham in previous censuses, nor in Kelly's street directory, but Ayres recorded as a Blacksmith in the 1798 Posse Comitatus. Family legend suggests a THAME connection - possibly a temporary stray? The family were Bapt
