I also found two Aitkens marriages in Kilmarnoch.
page 14. April 27, 1830
Andrew Aitken and Margaret Hunter of Kilmaurs.
page 50. 15.12.1831

Hello,
I have a second film numbered 1041388 which contains marriage entries for Dalry and Kilmaurs.
I have an 1854 Kilmaurs marriage and an 1845 Dalry marriage to look up.
If anyone would like a lookup done for them let me know before Saturday.

Still need help on this one - Please!
Hello again,
I have a newspaper clipping (date unknown) that talks about
5 Hodge brothers; James, David, Robert, John and William
who were leaders of the van of the Scots' invasion of the nineties.
Can SKS please tell me what this means??
Would there be any documentation on the subject or a book???
Thanks.
Have a great weekend!!

Thankyou kindly to Tim Millar, Murray H H Reid and Martyn Taylor
for their assistance on the above.
I conclude that the term 'Van of The Scots' as mentioned in the undated
newspaper article meant that the 5 Hodge boys were amongst the first
of a mass migration from Scotland to England (1900's).
Any suggestions as to the reason for this migration?
Thanks,
Linda Pearce
