This is really interesting. I am writing a paper on the African American family before and after the Civil War and ancestry.com (http://www.ancestry.com) has a new database called slaves narratives. I put in the key word Barringer and one came back that was an interview of Rachel Fairley who's mother was a slave of Paul Barringer. It's really interesting.
