11. [BARRINGER-L] Barringer Wish for 1999 [0.988204]
If I had only one with for what I want to find in 1999 for my genealogy ---It would be to find out and have proof of whether the wife of MARTIN HERCHE / HARKEY was really named CATHERINE BARRINGER Everyone says so and no one can prove it. She must have been born about 1744 possibly in PA. Maybe somewhere else. She was in Cabarrus Co. NC by 1768 when Martin Harkey bought land from Mattias Barringer. My thoughtsis that purchase of land is where the idea started that she was a Barringer. I need proof

Her name may not have been Barringer but genealogist and family researchers for 50 years have said CATHERINE BARRINGER She married MARTIN HERCHE / HARKEY. She and Martin had a large family on Dutch Buffalo Creek in Cabarrus Co. North Carolina. As far as I can determine she was not from the same family as John Paul Barringer or his sisters or brothers. Any help or hints ? Mary Russell
