3. Barringer's from Bedford Co. PA to Elkhart Co. IN [1]
I am doing research on my g-g-g-grandmother, Elizabeth Barringer (1832-1876), and her relatives/ancestors. Her father John Barringer, who married Catherine ( - ), was born in Bedford Co., PA, and migrated, first to Knox Co., OH, and then to Elkhart Co., IN. He moved from Bedford Co. with father, Lawrence, brother, Jacob, and brother David. David and John ended up in Elkhart Co., each having a large family. Any relatives out there? Peter Watt
4. Word of the week: Cabarrus County [1]
Okay everyone, new word: Cabarrus County, NC, so start listing your ancestors there. Reminders: After last week, I have found people do not know where to send mail and such so here are reminders 1. do NOT send messages to me that are meant for the list, send them to BARRINGER-L@rootsweb.com 2. do NOT assume that just because you send it to the Black list for example that people will know that "George Benson" is actually "George Benson Barringer" (picking these names out of the air, I don't actually ha
5. My Barringer Line [1]
Finally! It's mid-winter break (I'm a teacher), I've managed to find my computer free (we have two teenagers) and I'd like to share some Barringer info! My mom was (and still is!) a Barringer. I'm not too familiar with the reporting of geneological info and have found some of the messages posted indeciperable, so I'll keep this simple: My Great Uncle Bert Barringer, put together a rough, but fairly detailed, family tree in the late 1960's. According to this, I have learned that his brother was my grandfa
6. NY BARRINGERS [1]
Gosh, I didn't know that there were enough people researching Barringers for a list. I would be interested to know who started the list. Let me introduce myself to those of you who don't know me: I am the "self-appointed" Historian of the descendants of Coonrad Beringer (later changed to Barringer) who came to NY with the Palatines in 1710. I have published several booklets on these Barringers and their relatives. Currently I am working on my direct line, Coonrad's son, Frederich who settled in Rensselaer
7. Barringer-Force [1]
Chauncey FORCE m. Eliza BARRINGER in Troy, NY on 1 Oct 1836 I can't figure out to which family Eliza belonged and I didn't find them on the NYS Census for 1850. If there is someone out there who has access to Census indexes in the midwest - Mich - Ohio - Ill etc, please could you look for Chauncey Force? Thanks, Barbara
8. vital record addresses for every state/county [1]
First off, let me say I don't have these addresses myself, but here is an excellent homepage for people who want to request vital records (birth/death/marriage/divorce) but don't know the address. Also, if you know the town, but not the county, there is a link for that, just enter the name of the town and state it's in and it will tell you the county (I tried it, it REALLY works!). Hopes this helps out. http://www.inlink.com/~nomi/vitalrec/index.html Erin Bradford kshai@geocities.com Listowner for Barri

22. BARRINGER/BARINGER [1]
To the List, I apologize for not posting any names here to date. I usually like to watch any new list that I subscribe to, in order to understand the protocols and general geography that folks are researching. I am searching for any information on Daniel BARINGER/BARRINGER born early 1800's who married a Rebecca B. ?. These folks were in Indiana, which probably eliminates me from this list, as all I've seen have been North Carolina folks. Daniel and Rebecca had at least two children: Daniel BARINGER, j

24. trying something new...from the listowner [1]
Hello everyone. First off, let me start by thanking those that have sent their lines to the list, I appreciate it. I wrote some email to the listowner list about how I could get my lists to be more active, for them to give me some ideas on what can be done. I got one reply back that sounded like a good idea and I would like to give it a try. Basically what it will amount to is every few days, I will send a common name from each list, or place, that appears in more than one message. Then, your job is to
