This week's word is "Kentucky" :) What this means is in your line, if you have found any ancestors (or maybe not, but with the surname of the list) in Kentucky, post it to the list. FOR NEWBIES: The way the "word of the week" works is I throw out a topic and if someone has a line that falls into that topic, then they are *supposed* to post it, unfortunately though, I think the majority of the lists are lurkers, so not everyone really does. (I ha

7. [BARRINGER-L] My good news (and word of the week!) [1]
Hello everyone! I am in a great mood today (first time in a few weeks too!)! Here is why: I wrote a letter to my grandfather's brother in Charlotte, NC last September or October. This family has some kind of fued between grandpa and his brothers over some issue (I don't really know what it is about), but the other side of the family had information that I was interested in for my genealogy. I wrote a long letter telling all about me and my side of the family since I've been born and how my parent
8. [BARRINGER-L] a word about your subscription... [1]
Hi lists. I have had quite a few people on these lists give multiple subsciptions to the list when there is a lull in the posting....quit it!:) hehe. Don't do that for a couple of reasons. First off, it is unnecessary, If for some reason you were unsubbed, you will get a notice from Rootsweb that you were. If you don't get a notice, but you're not getting any mail from the lists, it's because no one is posting and resubscribing will not solve that. Second reason is because it is hard on the Roots
