I find this interesting as there was a Basket Maker with the surname Barringer in Troy, NY and later Schenectady, NY.
A copy of the Barringer Family Book by Williams is in the Charles A. Cannon
Memorial Library, Cabarrus County NC Public Library. A librarian there says
the book is in several sections and each one is indexed and there were no Hagler
names in any of the indexes.
Thanks to all who replied to my query about the book.
Sherry
I'm not aware of a Barringer Book. The library I work at has a book by the
same author and same title, except the surname in the title is "Blackwelder".
I can check in the Blackwelder book if you want.

Does anyone have a copy of the book: The Barringers and Allied families of
North Carolina and Illinois by Deward Williams?
I am interested to find out if there is any mention of a HAGLER connection
either in NC or early in IL. The BARRINGERS and HAGLERS as well a a number of
other familiy names seem to have migrated from the Cabarrus and Rowan Co. area
of NC to Union Co., IL about 1818 or so.
I am primarily looking for info on the early HAGLERs to Union & Jackson Co.,
IL.

I believe if you have a local Latter Day Saints Library in your area, they
have a copy of all Williams genealogy books on NC. Perhaps that might help
you. Mac
