5. Roberta Deserves Credit [1]
Hi, I agree with Janet about Roberta Hull's contribution to Beall genealogy. Maybe a nice little letter of thanks to her in the next BGN would be appropriate. Any volunteers? By the way, I also believe that there are A LOT of great genealogists on this list so I take my hat off toe all of you. Your cousin from Washington (not the place with tall trees), Bud
6. Re: CENSUS TAKER [1]
No, I got it off the internet. Ithought it was good enough to share. Did you get the AncestralQuest update by Hope Foundation? It's really great- I especially like the constant relationship feature. Did you figure a way to read my attached Descents From Magna Charta Surety Barons? I suggested that Bud send them in a different format. I have completed several to Robert Peyton via both the Yelvertons and Peytons, 3 to Alex Magruder, 3 to Eleanor Brooke. It's fun and very little work when my scanner does

For those of you who descend from the barons who forced King John to sign the Magna Charta, you may find the following to be of interest. Yes, Walter, a right click allows you to access "Properties" to determine the sender's e-mail address. Thanks for sending me the Harold Davey e-mail. -----Original Message----- From: Dcrdcr4@aol.com To: Ward Ginn Date: Sunday, August 01, 1999 9:10 PM Subject: Re: Magna Charta Ancestry Hi Ward: Thanks for your good e-mail. 8. Re: A Little Mid-Summer Excitement [1]
Just wanted to add a "Did you know...." that Roberta Hull of Mesa, AZ has been the tireless and consistent contributor of data and corrections to the Beall Geneal. News from p.1. Her research has been substantial, particularly in regard to the Alexander Beall group, and she has laid to rest many an error. Her by-line appears in just about every issue of BGN and she is always ready to ask or answer a probing question. Personally, I would trust her research over anyone I can think of. Thanks, Roberta, you ha

Its a snake pit out there with backstabbing, etc. I do not know at this point where the truth lies on this matter. It all started with me a couple of years ago when I joined the Somerset Chapter Magna Charta Barons. I have not regretted that decision. They seem to be a legitimate, above b

11. The two BEALL Lists [1]
Since Ward Ginn asked me to explain the difference between the two BEALL Lists, I will give my ideas on the subject, although I am really not the one who should be doing this. The first "List" that I became aware of was the BEALL-FAMILY List. The list is owned by Jean Jones (Aunt Jean) and has a small group of subscribers. It was started for the descendants of Thaddeus Beall and Amelia Jane Beall (his 1st cousin), son of Josiah (wife unknown), son of John and Verlinda Magruder, son of Alexander and Eliza
12. CENSUS TAKER [1]
Cal, the "Censes Taker" was really good and very moving (meaning it brings tears to your eyes.) So that I can give credit where credit is due, did you write it? I seem to remember that you do write poems. In any case, thanks for sending it. Walt Beall
13. Which Thaddeus? Which Walter? [1]
Jones County Georgia Deed Book A page 44 Georgia, Columbia County; 12 April 1808, Thaddius Beall of Columbia to John Scott of Jones Co. for $600, Lot #133 in the 11th District in Baldwin at the time of Survey, now Jones County, granted to T. Beall. Recorded 23 Aug 1808 Wit: Walter Dent, William Scott, Thomas White J.P. (found in"The Georgia Genealogical Magazine - 1970") Upon first reading I thought this is Thaddeus Beall (wife Amelia) and Walter C. Dent in this document. However, I have
14. Which Thaddeus? Which Walter? [1]
Hi Jean.. Walt Beall here. Since the way I figure it, Thaddeus Sr. died between March and July 1808 while he was living in Warren county, and knowing that his son Thaddeus lived in Columbia County where he was Justice of Inferior Court from 9 Dec 1807 thyough 1811, I would say that you are very correct to believe that it was Thaddeus Jr. listed in the deed record. As for which Walter Dent that is, I have no idea as I have not collected a lot of information on the Dents. Guess it could be either one
15. Re: [BEALL-L] A Little Mid-Summer Excitement - Beall [1]
Dear Diane, You ask about the difference between the Beall-Family list and the Beall list. Lets ask Walter Beall to answer this question because I am as baffled as you are. As to Ninian's silver service, it will be featured on the Clan Bell website in the next few days. As to the grave question, suffice it to say at the present time that this story was started by Sally Mackall, a believe a Georgetown resident many years ago. Sally may have been correct in the discription of the remains, but i
16. More Mid-summer Excitement [1]
Kathy Jones-Hudson takes the position that the Ninian Beall monument was moved and not disassembled and is seen everyday. The inference here seems to be that everything is OK. I can not agree with this perception of the matter. In the Fall of 1997 I made a visit to the St John's Episcopal Church at the intersection of O and Potomac Streets in Geogetown with the express purpose of viewing the only publicized memorial to Ninian Beall for his public service (there are two other plaques in the District of Co

18. CENSUS TAKER [1]
CENSUS TAKER It was the first day of census, and all through the land; The pollster was ready ... a black book in hand. He mounted his horse for a long dusty ride; His book and some quills were tucked close by his side. A long winding ride down a road barely there; Toward the smell of fresh bread wafting, up through the air. The woman was tired, with lines on her face; And wisps of brown hair she tucked back into place. She gave him some water ... as they sat

25. [BEALL-FAMILY] Pedigree Resource File [1]
Hi Gang, Today I received my set of "Pedigree Resource File" discs 1-5 & Master Index. I eagerly installed it and began to look for family names. I entered Thaddeus Beall and was quite pleased when I found that he was listed on disc 4. Installing that disc, I proceeded to pull up our Thaddeus and there were notes - too long to display. Well, I made a gedcom and opened it in another program so I could read the notes. They are wonderful. AND they give credit to : Gedcom from Walter V. Beall This infor
