I've resisted asking about this line because I'm so confused about it myself
but now it's just annoying me and I want to get it sorted out. Hopefully
someone can help.
Okay, to start off with I have Frederick Beard born 1794 in CT, married to
Roxanna Cone. I'm most confused about these guys because I have a lot of
conflicting data on these two. I've found something that says Frederick
died in New York, I've found a book that says Frederick and Roxanna moved to
Illinois where he died and she moved to Col
This is a very random item, but ..
A cousin sent me a small flier for a historic home in Jefferson, Texas called
The Beard House.
The paragraph on its history states that it was built in 1860 by a Mr. Birge,
but later bought by a Beard family (no specific date or names given), who
owned it until 1895.
It is located on the corner of Henderson and Vale in Jefferson Texas (which
appears to be in Harrison County north of Marshall, in north-east Texas).
If anyone has Beards in that town or county in the late
Jim,
Thanks.
I've not been able to find anything on a Prudence marrying a Beard in Dubois
Co, IN. I did find a Prudena Eldrige marrying a Thomas Beard in 1850 in
Carroll Co. IN, but that's too late.
I'll keep on looking!

Judy T,
On your line, do you have a John Beard, born abt 1750 in VA/WV who was
around Adair Co, KY in the early 1800's and then he or some of his kids in
Dubois Co, IN? If so, this John is probably the brother to my Samuel. I
know Samuel served under his older brother, John, at the Battle of Guilford
Courthouse. If you have him, then your line is probably some of the Beards
I can't identify in St Francois Co, MO. If you do have a John that matches
this, can you send me a GEDCOM of your file to
Sharon:
Where was your John from?

Hello, brand new to this list. Maybe I should say thanks that I had a crash and had to reset all my message boards and found this one. Looking for anything on Jacob Beard, wife unknown in Adams County PA in the 1820-1840's. Jacob F, his son, ws born in Adams Co and was in Muskingum Co OH, married and with a couple kids in 1850. I know nothing before this time. Does this sound familiar to anyone?
Thanks
Judy
Jim,I really do not know anything beyond obedient. I thought that we had a
line going through to Old John ,but I read something that Fred wrote, and he
now says that the line does not come from him. So I am left again with
Obedient. I do think that Obedients mother may have been Sarah. I have
heard so much on this man that I am not wure of much with him. Some have
told me that there were several Obedients in Spencer Co.,Indiana. All that I
know for sure is who his children and grandchildren were,
Rick this is a long shot, but,I do have a Prudence Beard(Baird).
My gg grandma was b. 1854, in Duboise Co.,In. Her maiden name
was Elzina Walker. Her mother was Prudence Mayo. Elzina m.Hugh Beard. Anyway
I know that my gg grandmother was not your Prudence as I am sure that she
only married once that we know of,but there are several brothers and sisters
who married brothers and sisters of another family. One of those is the
Beard family. I wonder if one of those could h
Hi list,
I paid a researcher in the Hardin County, Kentucky to search the BEARD
surname and this is what she came up with. On my grandfather Benjamin LEE'a
death certificate it states that he was born on August 28, 1833 in
Hodginville, Kentucky, his parents were Joseph LEE and Sarah BEARD. Joseph
was born in Tennessee and Sarah in Kentucky. On Benjamin LEE's record of
being a charter member of the IOOF in Sheridan, California it states that
Benjamin was born in Hodgenville, Kentucky. The f
My William Beard's full name was William Harrison Beard born in IL. He
married Mary Ann Elizabeth Smith from PA and they had now children named
Samue. Sorry there isn't a connection for you. This was my g grandfather.
I am interested in any information of any Beard's so that I can possibly find
more information on my father's aunts and uncles and their offspring. I have
been saving all of the information I can get on the "Beard" name and their
families.
The only way I have been able to most of m
Jim,does this fall in with my g grandpa Hugh Beard, who was b. in Duboise
Co.,In. in 1845,or so. I know that we have discussed this earlier, but forget
how it went. You know it was never settled which Obedient Beard was his
father and info from there back. I am talking about the query that Rick just
sent.
Thanks,Judy T.
Rick,
I've checked all Beard marriages in St Francois, Washington, and Jefferson
Counties from 1830 to past 1850 and no Beard married a Prudence in that time
frame. You might want to see if a Beard married a Prudence in Dubois Co,
IN in the early to mid 1840's, The Beards moved to St Francois Co, MO from
there about that time. Her getting married there at age 14 or 15 is likely
and moving to MO where her husband died. If you find his name, let me know
and I'll see what I may have on him.
Jim
Thanks for the lead. I assume the sisters are not know at this time. Do
you know where your GG Grandmother married? Keep me in mind if you find a
Prudence.
