The marriage bond for Ephraim JACKSON and Nancy BIRD was issued in Lincoln
Co. KY, May 7, 1793. Need help with the parents of Nancy Bird.
Ephraim was the son of Joseph JACKSON and I think his mother was a TINSLEY.
Can anyone document that? Joseph's wife was deceased when he wrote his will
May 1797. Joseph Jackson died by Oct 1797; Ephraim Jackson d. 1835 and
Nancy (Bird) Jackson after 1842 -- all in Lincoln Co. KY. Thanks in
advance for answers to these questions. Linda

Yes - but for a lot on the list you are somewhat late as Mothers day was

I am researching the union of a male _____ BIRD who married female
_____ POWELL, probably in South Carolina in the late 1700s/early 1800s.
That union produced at least one daughter: Zieley BIRD.
Zieley (or Zilly or Zilla) was born on December 2, 1801. And, she
married Josiah HUDGENS on August 11, 1825.
I am requesting information of the BIRD/POWELL marriage: names,
dates of birth, date of marriage, etc.
Hello Cousins!
Gayle Austin has began transcribing the first Court Order Book for
Pittsylvania County, VA, 1767. I did an extremely quick run through/word
search for Bird/Byrd/Berd/Burd/Baird/Beard and Choate and Webb (none). The
results are below. The entire document is at the website below. Gayle's
post to another list is appended at the end.
FYI, Helen...lots of Armstrongs (plus Pattersons, Martins, Simmons, etc...)

Janet and all, this is all that I've found in the Pittsylvania Order Books on
our Bird/Byrd's. Some of this info may be new to you, some not. However, I'm
fairly certain that Bedford County has more info on these same people, that I
haven't seen. For what it's worth, here goes. --Marla

Hello Everyone,
I am trying to document my doubts that the Mary Baugh, who many folks seem to
say married (1) John Crowley, (2) Thomas (or maybe John) Howlett, (3) Henry
Ascough; and (4) Thomas Byrd, could be the mother of any of the often cited
sons of Thomas Byrd (brother of William Byrd I). To wit: Thomas, William,
Andrew & Abraham.
My interest in this is double. First I have Tennessee Byrd (probably
Robertson Co) ancestry that appears to trace back to Franklin Co. VA, where there was

Anyone from England with a Thomas C. Bird in their family tree? He is supposedly born in England in 1802, came to the United States before 1830. He may have entered the Untied States through New York, living in Illinois, Missouri, Iowa, and Arkansas. He has been a puzzle for many Bird families in the States, because he lived such a mysterious life. Going from state to state, wife to wife. Help solve the mystery of this man.

Janet, I finally dug out my book, "Secret Diary of William Byrd" and it
was for later
years than you mentioned and did not mention any Baughs. Sorry.
