1. [BLACK-L] Word of the week....colonial [1]
Hello list. I got TONS of suggestions for the black list that should last me a life time:) Thanks everyone who sent me suggestions. I will just pick and choose from the suggestions at random and this week's word is "colonial" so if you have any colonial Black lines, start your modems and post them:) If you don't have a colonial Black line, but still want to post, you are more than welcome to:) Good luck everyone. 3. [BLACK-L] BLACK Family [1]
Searching information on John Harvey BLACK, married to Margaret Helen BARON. This couple had a daughter, Annie Leona BLACK who married Jesse Clifford PRUITT. I believe these families emigrated from Alabama to Texas. Apologize for lack of dates, etc., but have been unable to locate any. Any info you might be able to send will be appreciated. Thanks, BoB Peaslee
4. [BLACK-L] Let's Help Rootsweb! [1]
This is a forwarded message I recieved and I think that this is something everyone should be involved in. Without rootsweb, none of the genealogy Rootsweb lists that exist (over 5,000!) wouldn't be here. They have done so much for all of us, and I am sure some are you are very aware of what they do. All the things like the genweb archives and everything are housed at Rootsweb and without them, things like the censuses in the archives, mortality schedules, etc., wouldn't be accessible to us over the compu
5. [BLACK-L] suggestion on supporting rootsweb...please read [1]
Hello everyone, I have a suggestion/thought about supporting rootsweb. I received a message earlier from someone who had sent that cookbook thing to about a dozen lists and a couple more dozen people and in it, she said something that made me think...If everyone who received it just donated even $1, there would easily be a couple hundred total for rootsweb....what do you say we try that?? I have 7 lists and 2 of them have over 100 people on them (Black and Bradford) and the other lists combined would be m
6. [BLACK-L] Word of the week....? [1]
Ok everyone, no one really sent me a suggestion for the word of the week for this week and it's already Wednesday. If you have ANY suggestions, let me know. Also, for those that are new to the lists, I just wanted to tell you WHAT the "word of the week" is all about. In the past, these lists have been very inactive, weeks could go by with not one post, and I wanted to get activity up. I started a "program" for the word of the week where I give a word/phrase, such as John or North Carolina, and anyone w

James Madison BLACK was born 11 January 1870 probably near Salisbury, Rowan County, North Carolina. His parents were Calvin and Betty BLACK. Very little is known of his parents or siblings because he was orphaned at age six. His obituary mentions three brothers and one sister but does not gives names. One brother was Robert Lee BLACK who lived in Chicago. The 1870 census fo

Ok everyone, we have had a bunch of new subscribers to ALL the lists. Because of this, I would like people to start posting their lines.
