I am looking for any info on my original Black family member, unk first name. He was a Scotch Irish Presbyterian minister who came from Northern Ireland in the early part of the 1700s. He was educated at the Univ. of Edinborough. Probably arrived at Wilmington, Del. or Philadelphia and settled in Greenbrier Co Va. I believe they had many children one of whom was William Black m. Rebecca Benson. Wm and Rebecca moved to Illinois, then to Iowas. Children were William, Annie, Frederick, and Samuel. I
Hello,
I am new to the list and I would like to find out more information about
two of my ancestors, Cynthia and Rebecca BLACK. Cynthia and Rebecca were
sisters and they were Choctaws.
Rebecca was my ggg-grandmother and she married Henry SMITH. I don't have
exact dates but Rebecca and Henry had at least 3 children and one of the
children was born before 1807 in Georgia so I would estimate that Rebecca
was born about 1780. Rebecca and Henry moved to Mississippi before 1819
when another one of their ch
If this was done for WWI are there also copies for WW II and beyond? I
had been trying to find something like this at the county level several
months ago and told they thought all those has been thrown away. I'm
sure there was draft registration for WW II, any ideas on where we might
find these cards?
Thanks
Judy

A Black tidbit. I always look for anything on the Black and Crabtree names,
since I have an ancestor by the name of York Crabtree Billings and of course
my gr-grandmothers name was Rebecca Black. When I was in Pocahontas, Arkansas
a few years ago, I found some records on the Black family, where the name
Crabtree was involved. Anyway, I found the following information in Ky when I
was there, brought it home and immediately forget it. I just found it again,
I hope it helps someone. Wilma

Hello all....
I am looking for a needle in a haystack! While I was in Three Rivers,
Michigan doing some research I came across this article that I found in the
Three Rivers Library which reads:
Mrs. Smith of Portland, Oregon, is visiting with Whit BLACK, her brother whom
she had not met in 40 years--The Tribune--September 5, 1890
The Whit referred to in the article is actually Joseph Whitney BLACK who was
born in March 1830 in NY and died April 15, 1902, in Lockport Township, Three
Rivers, St. Jose
