I am searching for the parents and siblings of JOSEPH PENN BLACK born around
1832 in IL. Per the 1870 census, his father was from KY and mother was
from OH. I have no other information on his parents. What I know of Joseph
is as follows: In 1850-51 JOSEPH PENN BLACK traveled from Illinois area
to California and made his fortune in the gold mines a

I am looking for the parents of Sophrona Black Jones and her siblings also.
Sophrona was married to John William {Jack} Jones on July 10, 1837. I think
she was born abt. 1820 in S.C. and died in Forest, Texas and is buried
at the Forest-Thompson Cementery in Forest, Texas. She and John had 14

I am looking for information on Adam Black, b.1/17/1779, married to Elizabeth Green,
b.February 14, 1783. They had a son named James Cockburn Black b. April 14, 1806, d. May
17, 1893, and married to Lucy Eliza Mary Jane Brown, b. April 7, 1811. James and Lucy
were parents of Amanda and Caroline.
It was reported that James and Elizabeth ran a Inn in West Virginia in the very early

Do you know which part of Missouri your William Black was from? I have
a William A. Black from Lawrence Co,MO, but I don't think it would be this
one as he was on the 1850 census for Lawrence Co,MO along with his wife
and children.
