I believe she was born in Georgia. I found her and James in the 1830 census in Jackson Co., Ala. They had 7 children in Ala , the last being born in 1840. I checked the USGS site and did not find a "Black Springs" in TN. There are one or more listed for AR, CA, GA, NM, NV, OR,UT and WI. This does not mean it doesn't exist, just that it is not listed as a feature on a USGS Quadrangle map. Hello folks, just wanted to let you know that I just added the 1790 census info for NH, VT, RI, CT, and ME on the Black surname. I still need to get NC, SC, and NY, but if you want that info before I get it up, email me with a specific name your are looking for, don't ask for them all because there are a LOT there.
