Hi Cheri,
I have both Black and Wheeler in my lineage, but not in the
same families! Funny thing is the areas of their births and
deaths are much the same. I will list a few below and see
what you can make of it.
Warm regards,

Here is a little tidbit for your information.Old Irish Naming Pattern.
1st son was named after the father's father.
2nd son was named after the mother's father.
3rd son was named after the father.
4th son was named after the father's eldest brother.
1st daughter was named after the mother's mother.
2nd daughter was named after the father's mother.
3rd daughter was named after the mother.
4th daughter was named after the mother's eldest sister.
These patterns were not locked in, so to speak.

Fellow Roots Webbers,
I have been a subscriber for awhile, but am just now sending my first
posting.
I am researching the BLACK family who came from Sussex and Kent Counties,
Delaware, near Milford DE.
George Black settled there some time before 1736, aquired some of the mills
in the area and raised a family of 12 children.
I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has a BLACK whom they can
trace to Delaware, especially Sussex County.
Related family names incude: Laughinghoe, Hazzard, Campbell,
In a past inquiry in the Black Newsletter, a researcher spoke about Catherine
Black, born in 1827,NC who married in Walker Co,AL. She referred her to a
newsletter issue that dealt with the highland scots. Can anyone tell me the
significance of this reference?
Thanks!

Born: September 25, 1828 Place: Unk
Died: February 05, 1916 Place: Henry Co., Missouri
Married: October 30, 1859 in Washburn, IL

Born: July 13, 1839 Place: Ceres, PA
Died: July 20, 1902 Place: Unadilla, NE
Children include:
Ernest Caster Black
Herbert Leroy Black (my line)
Leona Evelyn Black
Any information would be great!
Hope someone finds a hit here.
