listed as 34, living with the family of Alexander and Sarah J. Black.

Doc,
Does this book make any reference to BLACKs moving to KY from Delaware. I
know that there was at least one BLACK from DE who is buried in Boone Co.,
but so far I have not been able to connect him to the rest of my Delaware
BLACKS.

We have at least one Hugh Black that settled in Butler County. Do you have
any dates that might help us help you? I think the first Hugh Black shows
up between 1820 and 1830.

thru another list I belogn too. It's a wonderful source to info on the Black
family in Washington Co. PA. I hope this helps you. I really did me. The

If your Nathaniel had three brothers, Archibald, Samuel and John, I may have
information on the brothers. According to my references, my Nathaniel came
from Florida, into North Carolina, to Alabama and on to Texas. After that,
I have no information on him.

Archibald, Samuel, John and Nathan are believed to have been brothers, with
all but Nathan eventually settling in Walker County.

McCUMBER ca 1821 in Ireland. They came to St. Martins, Saint John Co.,New

I just paid a fortune for a copy of the Combined Index for all Black Entries
in the SC Department of Archives and History. The COM Index contains entries
for deeds, Memorials, Rev War records, judgments, plats, slave sales, etc.
(c. 1676-c.1912, Granville to Craven, a few out west, and parts of NC which
became SC) The COM Index contains a brief description of the record, date,
and names involved in the documents, and in the case of city Plats, the

We have a Miss. Choctaw Indian name THOMAS HARVEY B. late 1700s . He
married a girl named _____BLACK. We were told through the years that
she was part Cherokee. They had a daughter name LUCY B.1816 in Ga.and a
son named Bill. They spent there later years in Choctaw Co. Mississippi.
Does any one have Cherokee in their family where these people might fit.
