Dear Linda,
Thanks for the reply and interesting "quandry." You say that Margaret Conely
"also was a descendent from Scotland." I take it this means James McNitt
Black was a descendent from Scotland also? Also, many of our Scottish
ancestors came to America via Ireland and the plantations. Ships lists from
Ireland might be a possiblity. Is McNitt Irish or Scottish? If it's Irish
how did it get handed down.
Any luck with cemetery records in Boone County?
All this thinking I'm sure you have been through alr

Dear Dwight,
You pose a good question which I cannot answer. The dates very may jibe, but
I can't put any of my Black ancestors in America or Ireland or any of the
Colonies or the rest of the world except my direct line who went from
Scotland to New Orleans. They very well may have been kin, but I don't have
any information on them.
Please keep in touch and if you find any passenger list or whatever that
links your James to Scotland, let me know.
Thanks for the reply,

Hi,
I am new to this list. I am looking for the family of my
greatgrandmother,Louise Black b. Nov. 7,1874 possibly in Charleston, SC. I
have been told that during the Civil War her father
supplied horses for the Confederate Troops. Her mother is reported to have
been a half-breed Cherokee Indian. She had at least 2 brothers and one
sister. Her sister was Mamie and married a Junius

Louise was married the second time to James Emory Hudson and there were 3

Hello everyone! I have been far to negligent of these lists this semester
and I apologize. This message is going to be mostly a reminder of different
things as we've had a lot of new subscribers lately.
As always, if any of you have concerns, questions, suggestions, etc., you
are more than welcome to email me directly either here or on AOL at
erinf5119@aol.com. It would be to your benefit to put something of interest
in the subject line so I can see it's not spam, and don't leave the subject
line blank
I am still trying to locate my great grandmother. I have very little info on her other than she was married to David Marion Beers. She was born in the year 1862, and died in Shippenville, Pa 1945. This is the year I was born. They had quite a large family, so far only on person has been alittle helpful, no one else remembers or doesn't want to. Any help would be grateful.

Dear Margaret,
Alexander Leslie and Ann Duff were my 5th great grandparents. I don't know
how Alexander Black might enter into the equation, but I'm certainly
interested and would like to find out. As you can see by my query, my Black
line is from Scotland, and lots of Alexanders, both the Leslie and Black
lines.
John (Juan) Leslie "married" (see notes) Elizabeth Cain (Kean) and had three
girls, all of whom died young.
Notes on Elizabeth Cain:
A native of East Florida.
"In 1789, John Leslie married sevent
