Hello everyone! I have seriously been working my butt off all weekend

moved to Nachitoches Parish, LA. by 1860. I found them living a couple of

An "uncommon common name" in my BLACK line is Pliny or Pliney. The first
seems to be Pliney Sadler BLACK, b. 11/5/1802, in York Co., S.C. Then his
grandson, James Pliny Black, b. 3/20/1854, Madison Co., MS, then James Pliny
BLACK, born 9/1889, Madison Co., MS. (son of James David BLACK and Eliza R.
CARVER) I think that there are others in MS after that date, but I don't
know full names or dates.
would love to hear from anyone with information about these Plineys and I do
have information to share.

NOTE: PLEASE READ THIS MESSAGE IN ITS ENTIRITY!!!
This week's phrase is "uncommon common name" :) What this means is in
your line, if you have found any strange (or not so strange) names the
occur often, post it to the list. I don't necessarily mean names like
"John" or "William" (which is probably the most common male COVENTRY
name), but if there are maybe four out of 7 people in your line named
"Ezekiel" or "Jabez" (which is one in my Kendall line), then post those.
It IS ok if you want to post
Hi Eileen,
This may be of a consequence, but more than likely coincidental!
I know very little of my Black lineage, but your Dicy (Brown) Black
caught my eye. My great grandfather, born WVA Jan. 11 1832,
was Samuel Brown Black. Do you see any possibilities of a
connection with the Black/Brown combination?

Hi Rooters,
I am responding to the word of the week and to Deb's message about Mitchell
Black.
First, I saw both of Deb's recent messages re Mitchell, and I am afraid
that I do not really understand the apology. Perhaps Deb can explain
further.
Anyway, I have focused my research on the BLACK family from Sussex Co.
Delaware (near Milford). Mitchell is one of the more unusual names (lots
of George, Wm. John, James, Sarah, Mary Joseph). Mitchell was one of
twelve children of George Black (d. Feb 1772 in
