I am looking for any information that could give me some insight on Rachel
Black. She was married to my ggggrandfather, Ambrose Cobb b. 1761 Haliflax
co. va. d. 31 aug 1824 m. 18 nov 1783. Rachel was born 1765/62 in North
Carolina and died 24 Dec. 1854 in Knox Co. Ky. It is rumored that she was of
cheerokee descent. And then on the other hand i have been told that this
would have been improbable. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Marcus L. (probably Lafayette) Black (b. ca 1784 VA) married Susan
Brice (Breece) in Williamson county, TN 1807. He then moved to Bedford county,
TN. Then moved to Hickman county, TN. He married at least one more time, maybe
two. I am thinking that Marcus might have been Thomas' brother. What do you
