I have a copy of an old photograph of a Leah Blackman. It was presented
to the Gloucester Historical Society by Peter Stemmer. She's wearing a
large hooped skirt, so I'd say the picture is quite old. She may be
Leah Mathis married to Ezra Blackman. I can scan and send this photo to
anyone who thinks Leah may be an ancestor. Mary G.

Hi Herm,
What was Mary's twins name who married Savil Justice? Would you like me
to email the picture of Leah Blackman to you? She has very thin lips
and her mouth does appear to be wide. She has large eyes and a strong
chin. Dark hair (photo is in black and white). The inscription on the
bottom of the picture says: Leah Blackman, Photo courtesy of Arnold

Jim, I have no other info than I remember seeing the name in the
1790-1870 Tennessee Census Index, spelled Fardham in Madison Co., TN in
1840 census. Just remembered the name because it was unusual. I have
the index number's TNS4a228654 and TNS4a228655.

I am searching for any information on my gg grandfather, Fordham W.
Blackmon. He was born in 1796 in NC. He died in 1872 in TN.
I believe he connects to Arthur Blackman, born abt. 1705 in Craven Co.,
NC. His father was John Blackman, born 1670. John's father was William
Blackman, born 1641.
Any info on this line of Blackmans, and Fordham, would be appreciated.

All the information I have indicates that Admiral is his name, not rank. I
have also seen his name spelled Admaral. Admiral's probate was filed 4 Oct.
1847, after he died. This is my only clue as to a death date for him.
Right now I am looking in
