I know that it has been many months since you posted your message, but I have a question if you do not mind. In the will of Sarah Blackmon, you stanted that her name was spelled incorrectly. Do you know if the Blackmon and Blackman families are one and the same or were there two separate families? I ask this because I draw a complete blank at fining any information on my great great grandfather Joseph Blackman who married a Margaret Porter in Charleston South Carolina in the 1840s.

My Blackmons were also from AL. I have an Annie Blackmon who married in Crenshaw Co. AL to Melvin Berry Martin 1869. Something happened to her, because Berry Martin remarried in 1890 Coffee Co. AL but then moved to Covington Co. He ended up in Okaloosa Co. FL and is buried in Pilgrim's Rest Cem. in Baker, Florida. Melvin Berry's mother was an Mt (Martha, I think) Blackmon, she married a Neal Martin in Crenshaw Co. AL.

I am looking for ancestry of Jennie Blackmon Terry, b. 9/28/1883 and died 4/16/1973 in Lawrence County, Alabama. She was the daughter of Johnny Blackmon and Susie Howard both of whom died in 1899. They are buried in Old Bethel Cemetery in Lawrence Co. Johnny was a preacher.

She was a member of the Antioch Church in
Harris County, GA in 1876.
Ahe was in Harpersville, AL in the early 1880's just
prior to her death.
I would like to find her place of burial and her parents if anyone has any information.
