Don & Phyllis, Jumping in.... Sorry to be the "wet blanket" once again, but upon what authority do you think this AB could "define" MNIGS for states? 9. RE: [BOARD-L] agenda? [1]
Hi Darilee, First of all, I strongly encourage you to get a copy of Sturgis or the way what is done on the AB will seem utterly confounding. Since EXEC is "closed session" what we do there is out of the eyes of the membership because it surrounds discussion of sensitive matters. BOARD-L is our "board table" and if there is a motion on it, there can be no other discussion. I suspect in a way, what we need is the opposite of what you have suggested. Sturgis recommends the following "Order of Business" at me

18. [BOARD-L] MNIGS [1]
First: No, it does not require a bylaws change to make mediation mandatory. It is the mediation process itself that makes it voluntary. The bylaws just state that the AB may be called upon to mediate and the mediation process was put in place to give a procedure if the AB is thus called on. So, because it is a procedure, it would be much easier to "amend" the mediation procedure than try to change a bylaw. Second: Do you want to just leave the ambiguous word "standards" in place with no definitions and
