In accordance with previously passed motions regarding the position of
Board Secretary, I submit the name of Esther (Esse) Frye,
County Co-Ordinator for Poweshiek and Pocahontas County, IA., as my
choice for Board Secretary.
A motion to approve is in order.

Maggie,
As outlined in the Report of the Election Study Committee, the
USGenWeb Advisory Board participates in the process of the formation
of the Standing Election Committee. Please see
http://www.timmweb.pair.com/esc/report.html for the details of the
Advisory Board and the Standing Election Committee's relationship. I
am currently working on an email to the membership of the project
regarding formation of the Standing Election Committee.

I haven't heard anything about this either. It makes sense that the
Board would have been informed about plans to hold a national USGW
meeting, but that is not the case. Makes me wonder just what
constitutes a "national USGW" meeting, since nobody seems to know about
it.

Motion made by Ken Short, seconded by Maggie, is numbered 00-39:
"I move that the Service Mark "USGenWeb" be applied for."
How to implement the motion can be decided at a later time as every decision
that goes into such an application need not be written into the motion to do
an application.
As this motion has been discussed for several weeks, voting will commence
on this motion immediately, unless someone has a strong objection on doing so.
Please vote accordingly.
Thanks,
Tim
Things have been moving a bit fast on the GenTech thing.... We have been
given a booth at no charge --- Booth 37... I have paid the fee for the
electrical hookup and Tina Vickery (THANKS!!!!) is paying for the phone
hookup so we can have live demos of USGenWeb Project pages and live chat
sessions.
On Saturday we will have two laptops hooked up to regular monitors. One
will have a looping USGenWeb project presentation and the other will be
used for the online stuff. Saturday booth coverage is set and
I move that the Advisory Board of USGenWeb commend Betsy Mills for
making the initial coantact and Holly Timm for coordinating USGenWeb's
participation in GenTech 2001.
(I anly wish I could be there.)

Tim,
As NE/NC County Coordinator Representative, and as a member of the ESC
committee, I am asking you to forward the following to all lists, and
to also post on the National Web Page. I request that the ESC be
thanked for a hard job well done, and that all USGenWeb volunteers be
encouraged to take an active role in the future of the USGenWeb
Project elections.

Shari,
Thank you. It is my hope though, that it will go to the Project from the
National Coordinator. I truly don't know how to say it any differently.
Tina
So far anyway, it appears to have been meant more as a get-together meeting
rather than a *meeting* meeting... certainly I think we can simply make the
most of this and turn it into a real get-together for all who can manage to
be there.... emphasizing a *meet your fellow volunteers* et cetera type get
together where we can discuss common issues --- relationships with
alternative and specialized projects --- coping with frame linkers like

I'll send it where I can. I don't have posting privileges on all the lists.

Tim,
I would be very happy to write this email. Stay tuned :-)

The message sounds good, Tina. Thanks for doing this. I am thinking we
should probably post the ESC Report on the National Pages. Does anyone
have an objection to that?
Thanks, Pam
