5. [Bos-St] JOE MAC DONALD - (of Somerville, Ma.) - member of U.S. Navy [1]
Trying to track down Joseph Mac Donald, (son of Matthew Mac Donald & Margaret (Peggy) Mac Innis) of Somerville, Massachusetts. Joseph was a member of the U.S. Navy as was his brother Jack. I have a family photo showing Joe, Jack, their brother Leo and another brother. Joe and Jack are both in navy uniforms. I believe they also had 2 sisters: Doris and Rosalie (not 100 % on Rosalie's name, it is blurred). Joe's parents lived in Somerville, Ma. and lost contact with his mother's family in Cape Breton. I

Hello, The Pierce estate is well known to all of Middleboro,Ma. They started with a dry goods store, it is now the police station, their home was across the st.,this is where Atty. Decas's office is, they left, actually I believe I should be saying he, left the Town of Middleboro, almost his whole estate, The gentlemen who oversee the estate, have done a quite remarkable job of handling it over the years. The proceeds go to the town, it helps with improvements, takes care of the Pierce Playground, and

I suppose someday I will master this eletronic whatchmacallit. I hope. My message was returned to me stating I had errors. I poked around making changes until I finally went to bed. Then I discover all these messages. I am sorry about that. I had about 4 rejections. I dislike seeing so many repeats on our list and then it happens to me. Again sorry. Doris

How much of a job would it be to look up a divorce record? I really don't know when it happened, just that My g-grandfather married 2nd time, and my g-grandmother was listed as divorced when my father was born. I am able to send dates if you feel you would be able to look it up for me. Margaret

14. Re: [BOSTON-STATES-L] HOWLAND [1]
The National Descendants of the Mayflower Society has a library in the Winslow House in Plymouth, Mass and have much information on the various New England families even though they concentrate on the Mayflower Pilgrims and their families. Naturally, those Maylfower families blend in with other families including Tuttles as do my Mayflower family. If you will write the Society at the Winslow House in Plymouth the librarian will always respond. Billie Redding Lewis -----Original Message----- From: Tuttle

What exactly is the new loyalist index that you have? Is it just a listing of the family lines that happened to be loyalists? I'm looking for information on a line of KIERSTEAD/KEIRSTEAD/KIERSTEDE people that went to NB (then part of NS) in 1763-65. I have a rough outline of the families, who the children were, what years most of them were born, that kind of stuff. Would this book have more? The specific line I'm looking for is: Samuel Jr (b 1719), Hezekiah (b 1765), Alexander (b 18009), Isaiah (b 1830

Grace, Let me know if you want any addresses. I stayed in Fairfax in '93 and family dropped me off at NGS in Arlington several times. It's not too far off the subway line between DC and Fairfax. They won't lend books if you're not a member, but they will photocopy if you know what you want. The DAR has an address for requesting photocopies. You can't copy anything yourself there, anyway. It goes to the copy machine with a staff member. Good luck. Dee Grace Mather wrote: > > Dee- > Thanks for the

Janette, this is not to you but to the forger of your note. I have been corresponding with professional and amateur genealogists for over forty years. I have worked on my family history ever since I was a child, but in all of those years I ran into only two undesirable correspondents. Since being on Internet only 8 or 9 months I have come across some of the rudest and most inconsiderate and impolite people who are supposedly interested in their family history. I think those of you to whom I am writing

Hi Alice; I'm 73 and believe me when I say that I'm most happy to hear from you , I am. I;ve been on my family tree for the last five years and when it seems nobody can take the time to check something out that to me, is like ignoring the whole set up that we are all trying to locate somebody or someone. Down here in Nova Scotia I get a lot of' mail asking for help on lookups, even some times I see something someone is looking for in the States, that I know someting about and try to help them.. I just want to thank the listers who reply to the list. Those of us who have just found this wonderful treasure (rootsweb lists) have a lot to learn and we do learn by reading through the messages even if it means reading a lot the doesn't apply to us. I realized that the public libraries would have the newspapers of microfilm of them, BUT I did not know that the State House had copies of all the newspapers the ordinary citizens could access.
