2. [BOZEMAN] DNA testing for descendants of Amos Bozeman [1]
Ancestor: Amos Bozeman The results of the Bozeman DNA testing can be found at: http://www.BozemanFamilies.com Two individuals descended from two different sons of Amos Bozeman have been tested. 11 out of 12 of the markers tested for these two individuals matched. The marker that did not match was only different by one point indicating that a one-step mutation occurred between Amos and one of them. But, we can't tell which one of the individuals had the mutation without testing at least one addition
3. [BOZEMAN] DNA Tests [1]
Okay. We got our tests back and show NO MARKERS matching anyone. That's a bummer! Does anyone understand the ethnicity page? If we have no matching markers, how can they place us in a country category? I am tired, and didn't read the whole thing, but what I did read, confused me some. Steve, do you understand that page? We need more Bozemans to sign up. We must be connected to you somehow! Esther

5. [BOZEMAN] Re: Other Bozeman Subjects [1]
Steve, I, too, want to thank you on behalf of our Bozeman line, whomever we connect to, for thinking of doing this. What a great way to narrow down those theories we all have! Have you found anyone connected to the Thomas Bozeman you thought my William might be connected to? I recall you looked at their children's names, etc., and produced a theory. Has anyone from that group been tested? Also, my father-in-law has one living uncle. He is one generation closer to my William. Would it help to t

8. [BOZEMAN] James of Edge. [1]
I want to ask Del Black and Sandy London if they have any cousin in CA who have the name of Bozeman? They would be from Howell. Or ask Carol if there are any Bozeman's in the Jackson MS phone book. They would most likely also be from Howell. There were no male descendants on my line after the Civil War did it's job. We used to have someone on this list from Meady Jr. but I do not remember who. Also wasn't there someone on the list, a couple of years ago, who was from Edgecombe Co.? Guess I could go
9. [BOZEMAN] DNA Test results and initial analysis [1]
I have posted the initial DNA test results and my initial analysis of what it all means to the Bozeman Families web site at: http://www.BozemanFamilies.com When we began this project, I expected that we would confirm that most of the various Bozeman families have a common ancestor. But, so far, the results have raised more questions than they have answered. Take a look at the results. Feel free to analyze them yourself. There is a lot of good info at the Family Tree DNA web site at: http://www.family

Steve has anyone else gotten back their tests. Mine came today via email. It does not show any 12 marker or 25 marker matches as of today. William E. 12. [BOZEMAN] Bozemans in TN [1]
To all on the list, There is a Judge Bozeman who is around age 89 living in Knoxville Tn. He does have a son living that is a doctor and he has posted on this list. Judge is not his name by the way. I am not sure which family they are from, but I do not believe it is James. I will have to go back through some research and see. I think that I have Bozeman male cousins living in Knoxville that would that would be a descendant of James. However, I do not know any of them. Do any of you recalled this Ju
13. [BOZEMAN] Initial DNA test results are in [1]
The DNA test results are back for six of the eight participants. I just took a quick look to see what the results might indicate. I can see that I am going to need to spend some time studying the results and reading up on how to intrepret the results. But, here is my first take. 1) The two descendants of Amos Bozeman have very similar DNA as would be expected. 11 out of 12 markers match. The marker that is different is only off by one point. 2) I'm not sure who else is closely related. The DNA of ea

Good evening Diana, I see my double cousin, dearest Sandy, has filled you in a little about our Bozeman connection, which I'm sure you have been aware of for many moons. You may not have known our great grandmothers, Melissa and Eurettasy BOZEMAN, married brothers, Isaac Allen and James William GREEN. I can't say for sure that any of the Bozeman's now living in California are related to Sandy and I or not, but there is always the possibility some could be. Sandy said she thought there maybe Bozeman famil

20. [BOZEMAN] Re: "Edward" [1]
Hoyt, I am interested in your numbers 7 & 8. I see you have question marks by them and I do question them. First it looks like you have two brothers as father and son. Then I wonder where you got the name of Edward for both of them. I descend from James of Edgecombe Co. who died in 1784 and I have never seen the name Edward associated with him in any documents. James named a son Samuel in his will but he would not be the father of the Samuel who was born in 1758 in Bladen Co. Also, it is not possib

This Nigerian scam scheme has really gotten sophisticated with this message. I have gotten dozens of variations on this scam, but never with a name that "could" be real. I am trying out Ancestry.com's newspaper database and got 25,000+ hits on "Bozeman". The majority (13,000+) were from the Helena, Montana newspaper, so even if one assumes that at least 1/2 refer to the city of Bozeman, there are still a lot of hits to be investigated. A general scan indicates a lot in Ohio, Indiana and Iowa. I'm sure the database will grow fairly quickly. There are no newspapers in my area of primary interest right now, so I will probably drop this subscription. However, before I do, he

Aloha Jim I just received the information that you and I are defiantly related as per the DNA tests, we must have been the first to send our test samples in.
