I forgot to make a note in the information I posted from Coryell County
Families.
One excerpt makes reference to William J.D. Bradford as having died in
the Civil War. This is NOT correct. It was William Wesley Bradford
who was with the 50th GA Infantry and was killed at the battle of Cold
Harbor. WJD was his son.
Sorry that I didn't point this out in the earlier post.

Hi,
Does anyone have any information on a JAMES BRADFORD that was on the 1790 NC
census? He was in the Salisbury District of Mecklenburg Co, NC.
Interesting thing about him is that he is not listed in the free white male
column, but in the one for "all other free persons". Since I have been
looking for a Bradford father for my Bradford line that had Cherokee blood, I
thought the James could certainly be a possibility.
Would enjoy hearing from any one that might have a clue.
Thanks, Nancy Hamilto
Nancy I too am researching a Bradford family with possible Indian root from
NC.
My possible line is William Bradford 1780 NC > George Bradford 1823 GA >
Joseph Bradford 1852 Van Buren Co AR. Do you think your James Bradford had a
brother named William?
