Helen Melvina Bradford was my Great Grandmother. I have not personally
validated any of this additional information information. Much comes from

scholar, school principal, chaplain priest of the Church of England and
S.P.G. missionary' by Grace D. McGibbon. I have a copy of this book, and
there are MANY other surnames listed for various reasons. I downloaded
Hi Joyce,
My Bradfords have TWO Williams married to Elizabeths. If your Bradfords
are from the Abbotsford area of Lower Canada (Quebec), then we probably
need to do some talking. :-)

I knew that my 3rd great grandmother was Mary Brenton. Then I learned
that her 2nd great grandmother was Mercy Bradford. I found Mercy

above. I followed her line back through Gov. William Bradford of the
Plymouth Colony and his wife Alice Carpenter. The Carpenter line is

Okay everyone, new word: Kentucky, so start listing your KY ancestors.
Reminders:
After last week, I have found people do not know where to send mail and such
so here are reminders
1. do NOT send messages to me that are meant for the list, send them to
BLACK-L@rootsweb.com, BRADFORD-L@rootsweb.com, or HACKETT-L@rootsweb.com
2. do NOT assume that just because you send it to the Black list for
example that people will know that "George Benson" is actually "George
Benson Black" (picking these names out o
Hello everyone. Is there anyone out there who knows of the Bradford
plantation somewhere in North Carolina? I don't think this is from my line,
but I am insterested in this as 2 of my Bradford ancestors owned slaves, 1
of which *might* be 1/2 or 1/4 black. I don't know the location of this
plantation, but have been told it existed by a Black man descended from a
slave of that plantation or something like that (this was almost a year ago,
when I first started the Bradford list, when his wife told me about
First off, let me say I don't have these addresses myself, but here is an
excellent homepage for people who want to request vital records
(birth/death/marriage/divorce) but don't know the address. Also, if you
know the town, but not the county, there is a link for that, just enter the
name of the town and state it's in and it will tell you the county (I tried
it, it REALLY works!). Hopes this helps out.

Hello to all my Bradford cousins,
Joshua Bradford and Hannah Bradford (my 5th Great Grandparents) were
both killed and scalped on 22 May 1758 in the Indian attack on Meduncook
(Friendship), Maine. I'm told that, according to local history, Chief Moxus
led the attack.... the account being that Joshua, grinding corn outside early
that morning, did not hear the warning shots. Having saved the life of the
Chief when he was drowning in the river near the Bradford house, because of
the gratitude the Chi
