Susan,
This may or may not be a lead. My Bradford line begins with Israel
Bradford, grandson of the Governor. It follows down through Joshua,
Joseph and Moses Bradford.
Moses Bradford had 11 children that spread across the U.S. from Indiana,
Iowa, Missouri and on to California and Oregon. Major Ward Bradford
left his children all up and down the west coast with several staying in
the Portland, OR area.
There is a Journal by Maj. Ward Bradford and a narrative by Moses(2)
that speaks of a third brother that
I previously asked for information about Malinda Bradford who married William Dewey in 1852. I now know they married in Scioto Co, Ohio, I see a family there headed by Littleton Bradford and wondered if there could possibly be a connection. If anyone knows more to help me, I would be so grateful. Thank you.

Hi John Fox,
I am descended from the Accomack Co., VA Bradfords (the branch that later
went across the state line to Worcester Co., MD). If they are related to
William Bradford, it is further back in England. They do not have any common
American ancestors. Don't know if this helps or not.

Just thought I would share a breakthrough on my Bradford line. My family
came to Ontario with my grandfather in 1912 so it was easy to find our
place of origin in England. This was Islington in the north of London
(kind of central now). We traced ourselves back through two generations
there and then found through the censuses that my gg grandfather was
born in Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire. My father always figured
Yorkshire because of the concentration of Bradford there or else in the

Charles City County, VA Bradfords the line went to NC
and then throughout the south. I have forwarded your

if they can help

In the 1870 Osage, Camden, MO census there are 2 "mystery" Bradfords,
William F. age 17 b MO and Jude A. age 14 b MO, both farm laborers, living
with my ancestor Parker R. Bradford age 33 b IN, his wife Eliza N. age 24 b
MO, son William G. age 1 b MO, and sister-in-law Paulina Gibson age 21 b MO.
I don't recognize them as nephews or cousins. Anybody know them?
Parker was in IA in 1860, Benton, MO in 1880, Green, MO in 1900 and Douglas,
OR in the mid 1880s.
