Hi,
Do any of you have any knowledge of a descendent of Govenor William Bradford
that came over on the Mayflower that returned to England to live? I am trying
to trace back John Bradford from Shepperton-on-Thames, England . I would
appreciate any help. I cannot find John on CD genealogy listing at the
Mormans History Center - I am going to look into their microfiche. Thanks.

I am trying to sort out these folks and the Ft Sullivan book by the Charleston DAR
lists those captured in the 1780 siege of Charleston. I have been working on
trying to match the names with the pre 1790 and 1790 and 1800 census of Sumter to
see which of the men were in the Battle and who lived near whom. I also note in
the Plantation records that are available for the Singleton plantation have
several informative lists of the Jockey club of the High Santee (Bradford

are you researching this line??
I am from Tallahassee and have a lot of info on the Bradfords and Epps, both branches of

Some sources, such as the North Carolina Division of Archives and History,
have stated that John Bradford's wife was Rebecca "Bartlett" and thus her
husband was great-grandson of Mayflower Pilgrim Gov. William Bradford of
Plymouth colony, MA. There is little documentary evidence for this theory.

The Moses Bradford that I know about is white. He was almost hanged in
Kansas for having an anti-slavery opinion. Someone warned him they were
coming to lynch him, and he escaped, went north and joined the Union Army.
All five of his sons joined too.

I think that the Bradford line in Granville was not connected to the Thomas
Bradford from Sumter SC, who's son married Mary Polly Hargraves/Hargroves. This
Thomas , Jr son of Thomas M 1731 , wife Sarah I believe died in Clarke co AL in
1837. I can trace the Thomas who died in Clarke from 1808 in Hancock co, GA with
100% of certainty from the court and tax records of Hancock , Wilkes and
surrounding GA counties
He was partnered with one james Savage who married Alice Bradford in 1804 and
was either Thomas, J
I can't answer all these questions, but I'll do this part by

It sounds pretty good to me. I have a Nancy Bradford daut of a John who
married into my Tucker line. My first cousin sent me some newspaper
clipping's on the Gov.

get ahold of
her to request her permission. She worked long and hard at all the info she
has so
appreciate it and don't want to hurt her feelings by sharing without
permission.

Hello all:
First of all...I am an outlaw and not one of the clan here. I am helping
my Brafford spouse find some origin in her name. One theory is that the
spelling is derivative of Brassord, with the s/f interchange. Another,
applicable to this list, is that it is derivative of Bradford, which by the
way is the street we live on in Troup, Texas which was founded by the
Bradford family from Georgia. Thanks for any info.
I sat down with the censuses for Henry Co., TN 1860, Henry Co., TN 1870
and Stoddard Co., MO 1880. I have the copies of the real pages not just
the indices. I made three columns and listed each person noted. Here is
how it came out. Words in ( ) are my notes, they explain why the person
is not listed. In 1880 all living children are listed, even those living
in their own homes.
