have a MO connection to Jessee Nelson Bradford, born Dekalb Co., MO in 1843.
SNB lived there in late 1870s before going to OK. Direct info on Samuel

Hello Bradford List,
Since my first post in August, I have found out that the Bradfords of
Worcester County, MD came there from Accomack County, Virginia. I am now
looking for information on the following wives of my known or probable
Bradford ancestors. Does anyone have any information on them?
Sarah H Tarr, wife of James Bradford 1780-1852
Sarah was b. 6/24/1785 in MD, m. James 1/30/1811 in Worcester County, MD
d. 3/25/1853 in Kentucky
Sarah, first wife of Samuel Bradford d. between 1810 a
Sandra, Thanks for the info. Both Jessie and Stephen re in Dekalb County at
the same time, and even share the same middle name. Thought there might be a
connection - may still be. I'll let you know if I turn up anything.
Help, I'm still looking for my gggrandmother Minerva Helen B**ford. We have
"Brawford" and "Braughford".Any possible spelling will do at this point. We
think she was born in IL, died June 1874, Married Samuel G. Winters about
1868. Two daughters, Mary "Molly" and Eliza Luella. Any clues will do.

I don't have info on John Thomas Bradford, but am wondering if thee is a
relation to my gggrandfather, Stephen Nelson Bradford, who lived in
Stewartsville, Dekalb Co., MO. for several years in the early 1880s, before
going to OK, where he died in 1898. Also in Dekalb County then was Jesse
Nelson Bradford, born there in 1843, died 1926. Haven't established a direct
connection between the two, but am at a loss as to why SNB went there - may
have been for relatives. I am seeking the antecedants for SNB

Hello everyone! I have been far to negligent of these lists this semester
and I apologize. This message is going to be mostly a reminder of different
things as we've had a lot of new subscribers lately.
As always, if any of you have concerns, questions, suggestions, etc., you
are more than welcome to email me directly either here or on AOL at

in the subject line so I can see it's not spam, and don't leave the subject
line blank

I don't know who Samuel Bradford's parents were. Actually, the only info I
have on him is what I wrote. Have much more on Stephen Nelson Bradford, but
very little on Samuel.. He was Born near Boston in Sept. 1768, but a thorough
search of town records, birth and wedding lists, etc. doesn't show a Samuel
Bradford born then. The NJ censuses for 1830 and 1840 show he was born
between 1760 and 1770, but little else. I know this (NJ) is him because SNB
mentions Warren Co.,

Kenna,
All surname authorities agree that the surname Bradford comes from
"Broad Ford" meaning a wide crossing place of a river. The surname would
have become attached to an individual as a method of identifying him:
John of the broad ford, meaning he lived by the broad ford. It could
also have arisen from one of the many towns called Bradford in England.
In this case, he could be John of (the town of) Bradford. There are
Bradfords in York and the western counties have several. My own

Thankyou John for the info on the Bradford name.

We are trying to find info about my g-grandfather, John Thomas Bradford who we think was married to Katie Day. We know that the family lived in Aurora MO around 1875. Their children were: Birtie, Bridie, Jessie, Johnnie - married to Zula Barnes, Maggie, Ollie, Ollis and Herman - br, Aurora 5-12-1879 - mar. Ivy Francis Elizabeth Watkins.
Anyone have any history on this side of the family, please contact me at: ows@mitec,net
Thank you all.
Dale 300, I don't think he was born in England. His son reports he was born
near Boston. He is supposed to be descendedform Gov Bradford, so the family
came from England in 1620. My uncle has sen his home in Austerfield, whcih I
missed when I was in England.
