I'm probably wasting my time with this idea but here it goes anyway. Does anyone know of either a freeware or shareware genealogy program that can import GEDCOM files? I would like to be able to share my GEDCOM file with other family members who do not have any genealogy software and who aren't about to drop $50 or more just to read my file. Just a basic, simple program that can read my GEDCOM is all they need. Most of my family isn't interested in doing their own research and all they really want to do is

You might check the Bradford line that came into Virginia in the early
1700's. I believe the first one was John Bradford and was no relation to
Gov. William Bradford.

Keith, I have 2 James Bradfords on my side. They were both from Henry Co.
Tenn. My grandfather Wade A Bradford moved to Ky. in early 1900's. Moved
to Ballard Co. Ky. He had a brother James that died in early 1920's and
his grandfather was James and married to Susannah(Susan Upchurch) Hugh
Bradford and Kizziah were his parents and I believe
Hi,
I live in South Africa and have been able to trace my family back to Francis James Bradford, who emigrated to South Africa in approx. 1882, from Middlesex, UK. He was married to Rosa Loaring.
He had a twin brother, Francis Joseph Bradford, who emigrated from Middlesex to Canada.
I would really appreciate any information which would help me trace beyond this.
Many thanks
Bruce Bradford

Hello everyone! I am sorry for neglecting these lists this past semester but I'm in my
last year of school and the work is just pulling me under. What i need help with is I
need to find someone who has participated in the Civil Rights Movement personally (like a
march or sit in or voter registration or been part of an organization, for example). If
you have participated and are willing to answer questions to for an interview through
email THIS WEEKEND, by Monday night (it's due Tuesday! along with a 5 pa
I knew when I wrote the thank you note to the list that I should have also mentioned the names of the programs suggested. I had just as many people asking for programs as I had suggesting them. So, for everyone who asked here are the 2 free/shareware programs suggested for reading GEDCOM files. (I know I mentioned 3 programs in the other Email but it was a mistake.) I haven't tried them out yet so I can't say how good they are yet.
#1: Personal Ancestral File 4.0 is totally free and is found at http:/
I know at least a couple people on this list are researching this Bradford line so I thought I would scan & post this to the list. It may not be anything new to anyone but I thought someone should get it scanned so that it could be out there somewhere for whoever wants it. This comes from a book called "1776-1976 Bi-Centennial History of Lawndale, Martin And Anchor Townships And The Villages Of Colfax And Anchor" which was published in 1976. I have found errors in this book before so I just thought I wou
Hello everyone, I am writing this very quickly as I still have to finish this project

study for 2 tests I have on Wed. morning. I got some help and I wish I thought of
checking my lists in the first place, but Wilmer Kerns emailed last night offering his
help (along with others!) and answered all the questions except 2 by this morning. I'm
almost done now thanks to everyones help. I thank EVERYONE who offered help,

Wow! Thanks everyone who suggested a program for me. I had about 12 Emails in just a couple hours. It seems everyone suggested the same 3 programs over and over so I think I will find and download all 3 and check them out. Thanks again everyone. I guess I should have looked for a program myself before asking but I was under the assumption that such a program didn't exist.
Thanks;
Mark
