Kerrie,
I don't know how much detail you are interested in about the BRAILSFORD's
that we have recorded. For example do you want detail such as this about
Amos B, my Grandfather? (I just cut and pasted this from my database:

At time of marriage Amos was an iron moulder; at time of death he was a
brass foundry superintendent at English Electric Co., Stafford. In the 1891
census, at age 13, he was a shoemaker.

I have just downloaded a whole heap of email and I got very excited when I came across this list from Chris. Unfortunately it raises more questions than it answers.
The John Henry BRAILSFORD who owns the Prince of Wales would be a good candidate to be my gggrandfather who is the Hy BRAILSFORD at Hagg Hill in the 1881 directory - that agrees with the 1881 census.
Of further interest is the Charles Henry BRAILSFORD who is publican at the Old Angel. My grandmother wrote of her grandfather, Henry BRAILSF
Hi Don & Brenda & list
I have excellent news. Brenda's information (and therefore, Mary Ann
BRAILSFORD of "Bramley's Seedling") can now be traced, (due to Brenda's
knowledge of Humphrey being firstly married to Elizabeth Read,) back to
Elfin in 1066 as detailed below. For simplicity, I have recorded all
surnames as de Brailsford or Brailsford rather than variations used. This is
a direct lineage report with no siblings included... ie a "pedigree" of 23
generations for Brenda. If anyone has interest in furt

It was unusually interesting to me to visit the Erewash Museum in Ilkeston last week. Its home is Dalby House, named after John DALBY, my first cousin, six times removed. He and my 4xg-gf , John Johnson DALBY, were both grandsons of John DALBY, who married, 2 Jul 1704, Anne BRAILSFORD of Coneygree, North Wingfield.
Although I've no way of knowing whether J J ever visited his cousin, I hope he did - and enjoyed, as I did, the views over the Erewash Valley from the upper storey windows.

Hello to Kerrie and the List
Firstly, Thank you to Chris Booth for his information about Mary Wilcockson and Hanna Hollingworth. I have also received an email from David Barker who has Hollingworth in his line and so have forwarded to him the miserable little I have about Hanna. Hopefully this leads to something for both of us.

Hi Listers
Well, I finally managed to visit Coneygree, North Wingfield!
Now an industrial/housing estate, known as Coney Green, this was the home of John BRAILSFORD in the late 1600s-early 1700s.
We took a picture of the grey farmhouse, now used as offices, but looking quite impressive, still, with its faced stone walls. Then we visited the parish church. An old volunteer, trimming grass round the gravestones, suggested that we have a word with the rector, Charles Beresford, about the Brailsford family.

.. Bramley's Seedling, like the Granny Smith, [is] one of the few apples
attributed to a female grower. The variety was raised by Mary Ann BRAILSFORD
in Nottinghamshire, England, around 1810.
Last week we asked if the Bramley is grown in Canberra.
Dr Jonathan Banks, of Pialligo Apples, said, "We did fruit some real Bramley
