Michelle,
I have several Braswell's that start with an M but they would all be WILD
guesses.
Sorry. I also have Braswell's in MO but they are from the SouthEast
portion around Portageville. You can see all my information on the web
page....

Did anyone get back to you yet? James Green is a member of the list also.
He might have some connections to your family.

I have recently subscribed to your mailing list in the hopes of finding
something out about my family. I am an amateur genealogist at best (I
have 1 day of experience), but I do have access to many relatives that
could possibly help. My home address is as follows:

Here's as much as I currently know about the Bracewell name:

I've been reading with great interest the postings on the mailing list the

I believe there's some question about whether Richard's wife was a
SAMPSON. I did find a James Sampson in early Isle of Wight Co., Virginia,
but I've never seen any documentation on Sarah's identity and one of my
subscribers wrote that she'd heard that his wife was Sarah VALENTINE. No
one ever cites any evidence for her identity though.

Marjorie,
I found your name in rootsweb. I am researching the family of Braswell
Bridgers. I have quite a bit on the Bridgers family and I know his
mother's name was Mary Braswell. Mary's father was named Robert
Braswell and he died in September, 1736.
Any information you can add to this would be greatly appreciated.
You can contact me at: ccunder%corekcc@msmail.state.ky.us

Victor,
Sorry it took me so long to reply. Other things have demanded my time. It
was good to hear from you and hope that others may have replied. I would
like a copy of your GEDCOM file. I am trying to get as many as possible.
Someday I "May" link them all together!
I am glad the web page was of help to you. I want to able to add more
information if I can get the time.
This lady that you spoke of in Rocky Mount. If you contact her and she has
any information I would love to see it.
It was neat to see Braswell on the NET. I'm looking for information on
Polly Braswell, married Ansel Strickland Clarke Co., Georgia, 1855.
Ansel was killed in the Civil War. Polly was left to raise three boys,
James Buchanan, George Washington (my great grandfather) and Monroe
Wilson. I would like to know who Polly's parents were. There is a
William Braswell listed in censes records, but I don't know if he is
related. I would also like to know if this is the same Braswell family

Sorry, I don't have any info on the Polly Braswell you're looking for.
I am, however, related to the Ann Braswell you mentioned. Her
half-brother Robert was my 7th great-grandfather. I had known that she
had been married to a Strickland, but had no other information. Your
message filled in some blanks! Could you share your sources on this?
Thanks!
Pam
I am a Braswell, but do not know my heritage. I know that my father was
James c. Braswell, Sr. from Laurel, Miss. and his brother was Morris B.
and their mother was Emma. Their father deserted the family during the
depression in Texas.(Whereabouts unknown). Dad's father was believed to
be from Alabama, walked with a limp on the right leg and was
nicknamed Red. A barber or cabinet maker. Any info would be
appreciated. Rev. James C. Braswell, Jr. jcb101@onslowonline.net I

Thanks Mary! I checked them out. You are refering to the people registered
in the Rand Data Base right?

Lois,
Sorry, but the Ancestral File doesn't list original sources. When I have a
chance, I'll go back to the LDS Center and check the Ancestral File for the
name of the person who submitted the information and try to contact them
to see where they got their information.
