3. Re: [BRE] Hunsaker Family [1]
I wondered how you came to the conclusion that George Wolfe's wife was a Hunsaker. Was that from association or do you have something written that would name her? Just curious. 6. [BRE] Susannah Bowman [1]
I have seen the wife of Joseph Flora Sr. (November 21, 1761-January 3, 1841) listed as Susannah Bowman (April 11 1762 - September 19, 1850), although most histories list only her given name. Is there any documentation for this surname or is it just supposition? To which Bowman family would she belong? Milton Cook

Diane: Joseph Bowman, the son of Jacob and Verena Bowman married Esther Bechtel, daughter of Samuel and Anna Simon Bechtel. Jacob and Verena's son John married an Elizabeth (surname unknown) per Emmert Bittinger source: Emmert F. Bittinger, Descendants of Jacob Bowman Sr. (Part III) Mennonite Family History XVII, Number 1 32-39, January 1998. I hope this will be of assistance. We have another (presumably Brethren) John Bowman in Ohio. This fellow was born June 7 1830 in Donegal Twp, Lancaster Co. PA, five weeks after the death of his father, John Bowman 1797-1830. We do not know what happened to John Bowman 1797's wife, Magdalena Leib (1801-1851, nor to what congregation these folks would have belonged. Do you know hoe this Joseph Warner is related to John N. Warner married to Sarah Studebaker, who married Joseph Hardman after John's death?, or to Jacob Warner married to Eliza Redeye? They all moved from OH to Kosciusko, Wabash or Whitley Co.. Those are my husband's ancestors, thence my curiosity. Flora Warner

Thank you for the detailed explanation. There is no need to apologize to me for long-windedness as I am famous for that myself. On this occasion, unfortunately, I am forced to brevity by the imminence of our departure for a lengthy tour in Europe, including some genealogy, but not on this branch of my tree. I would very much like to resume after my return in November, since I have serious problems over the origins of the Slifers at Burkittsville. I think that there were 4 or 5 John Slifers, whose
