Hi Ray, Thanks for this site info - have already joined and look forward to receiving the monthly news letter. Great stuff. Jane, The www.history.uk.com time line is designed to be an easy and quick to use 'heads up' for researchers (ideal if you want to get an idea of what happened - battles, plagues etc. in a particular year). Essentially it gives the 'news headlines' for each year - which is probably why you didn't find the precise family/first name you were looking for. It is not the definitive guide to all British History - not was it intended to be so. I am very happy to provide a completely 'free to use' directory of m

Ray, Just tried your site, entered "Hildreth" in Time Line, no results. Earliest English record is around 1400 of this name. 6. William MARTIN b. 1856 [1]
Hi Folks, I've been hitting my head up the wall trying to find my ggrandfather, concentrating on the Liverpool area. It's been not successful, so I feel like I need to expand my search. Looking for any kind of record on William MARTIN. He was born in England in 1856, and it would have had to have been during the first 5 1/2 months of the year. Census records in mid-June in the US show him as already having had his birthday. William's parents names were William and Mary MARTIN. From what I have been

Hi Lori, You, and anyone else that has got stuck with their research, might want to have a look at www.history.uk.com as we list all kinds of reference sources including all the UK records offices, museums (even the small local ones), libraries and a lot more. We even list significant houses which may hold records and these are certainly worth an email or further research. Hope this has been helpful. www.history.uk.com is completely free to access. I agree that it is a very comprehensive site however when I enter "Hildreth" I am given the Hildreth Family Association which does not have the data I am looking for. Instead, the HFA has perpetuated a myth or two about my ancestor, Thomas HYLDRETH or Hildreth who first appears in the Town of Southampton (New York, USA) records in 1643. The HFA is dominated by decendants of Richard Hildreth who was known to appear in Mass. USA around 1635. Despite the fact that early historians claim no close relationshi
