Hi Debbie Thanks for taking the time to reply to my message. To answer what I have done so far sounds very piecemeal, but for every bright idea I have I seem to come up against a dead end - so here goes:- Using Ancestry I have got Sydney's date and place of birth (Islington 1892). Using this I tried to find a marriage and death, but to no avail. Have also tried Familysearch (LDS) with all enquiries returning a 'no match' I have used Kelly's directories for Canterbury, where I can find him listed as an E

Hi Jill Perhaps you could tell us what you have done thus far in order to trace these people? There may be avenues you have not yet explored and someone might have a bright idea. Please can anyone help me? I am trying to find out what happened to SYDNEY ORTON and his family after the Blitz on Canterbury in June 1942. At this time he was the owner of an Electrical and bicycle repair shop in Broad Street, Canterbury. He lived above the shop with his wife Dorothy Lavinia, a son Ronnie/Ronald and a daughter. During the Blitz the shop was totally destroyed but none of the family appear on the list of casualties. Thereafter, I can find no trace of the family. Does anyone know what
