. At the Troy Fair this year the PA
State Treasury, Bureau of Unclaimed Property had their computers set up
so I asked them to seek Prutsmans,Prutzmans,Brotsmans,Brotzmans, and
Brutzmans. A lot of names came up- more in some than others, and most
from Eastern and Southeastern PA. At least some of our kin have some
monies if they wish to pursue the claim procedure! Tell all who will
listen that they should call 1-800-222-2046 or e-mail to

Hello ,Lillian:
Welcome to the Brutzman/Prutzman family I have ,as you can see
forwarded your letter to our main compiler, Kay Ervine and also to the
Brotzman -L mailing list. ...This will put you in touch with more
descendants of Johann Frederick and Maria Barbara Brotzman. Perhaps some
closer cousins.
My husband's direct line is through George Adam Brotzman and Frank is
an 8th generation descendant of Johann Frederich Brotzman .
I quickly located , in Corvia Christian's Book (1968) your own family.
Emma Bower Readinger, nee Prutzman, born 29 Feb 1916. Sister to my father
in law, Walter B. Prutzman. Died this morning, 13 November 2001. Survives
her second husband, Walter Readinger and son Lawrence. Will send obit from
Reading Eagle when its printed. Funeral Saturday, I'm guessing at Spies
Cemetery, Alsace twp.

Most people got married in June because they took their yearly bath
in May and were still smelling pretty good by June. However, they were
starting to smell, so brides carried a bouquet of flowers to hide the
b.o.
Baths equaled a big tub filled with hot water. The man of the house had
the privilege of the nice clean water, then all the other sons and men,
then the women and finally the children. Last of all the babies. By
then the water was so dirty you could actually lose some

Poconos - nothing. Go figure.
Hope everyone's Christmas was as good as mine, and that
the New Year is as good as this last one. Special thanks
to Scott and of course "Auntie" Kay for making this one
a great year for the Brotzman's.

HI,
was at the cemetery (Roseville) when the lady was doing the stone
inscriptions to give to Joyce. Had a good visit. The Prutsman farm is
located a short distance from the Cemetery- abt 2 miles. A descendant lives
on 30 acres of original farm and negotiating for 70 more acres. I will be
getting the data on that twig of family. It is now about 60% done as of 2
weeks ago. This is the George Adam Bracnh, David, David descendants.

Looks like a white Christmas in PA; although I'm not sure a 1/2" of snow
the day before really qualifies.
Since lists are very quiet, thought I should send something thereby
fulfilling the saying, "Use it or lose it."
May the force be with you.

Greetings to all:
Joyce Tice, Webmistress for a wonderful research site has just added a
cemetery in Tioga Twp.,Tioga Co,PA .
Although there are just four or five Prutzmans listed (perhaps they had
given the land??) It may contain persons who are collateral to the
Prutsman family. Take a look at it .
and while your there

Was approached this week about doing a write-up on the early generation
Brotzman's iin Williams Twp., Northampton Co., Pa. for a booklet that is in
the plans for a 250th anniversary..
I will try to find out more on this in the next couple weeks.
Thought it was something that could be worked out.
WHAT'S YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS??
Kay
Hi folks,
Well it is a confusing story>but then this is why we are diggin up roots!!
The Brotzman book published in April 1969 listed 5 KNOWN children.
Just this last week received the data from Virginia, who is connected with
the Sandt/Bush families. I met her at the Marx Room the week before.
She found that these were the children of Philip and Elizabeth through
research at the Monroe Co., Hist. Soc.
1. The Brotzman book had listed these (5): Julie Ann(Julianna) , Rachel,
George, Susanna and John..
Author
Rev. Wat? It is quite vague, but supposedly there was a Brotzman who
supplied horses &? wagons for the war. Will need to go back through my
book/notes.
Civil War? We had several in the war, but if any are buried in Gettysburg, I
couldn't say at this time.
a cousin of ours, Don Alamo e-mail: dalamo@skipjack.bluecrab.org has done
research on the Civil War and may be able to help you as well. His
grndmother, Corvia Christian is the one who sprearheaded publishing the
Brotzman Book in 1969.. Not sure if this e-

Well .... Actually I was not refering specifically to Virginia's
side of the family. I was refering to the extremely vast amount
of research time that Mrs. Learn donated back in the 40's and
50's. That was before the Hist. Soc. became the place for
genealogy it is today. Mrs. Learn and Mrs. Walters were both
DAR memebers that founded the research center there.

My thought is that it's a great idea. It would give us all a
sneak preview into what the new book will eventually be like
