I have another take on the name change subject. There are several Bulls who
appear to have added a middle initial "T" before they and/or their children
changed their names to Turnbull. I have the following Bulls as having been

John T. Bull (s/o John Bull Sr. & h/o Nellie Collins) of 1830 Morgan Co., IN
John T. Bull (s/o John & Nellie) of 1830 Morgan Co., IN

Kent,
What year was he born? You must mean 1861? I know there are Parkers in Clay

about this particular couple.

Mary Lou & All,
I'm wondering about Jacob Bull of Grainger Co / Hamblin Co TN. You mentioned Jacob Bull who married Sarah Vincent as a possible brother to Capt John Bull, b bet 1751-1760.
Jacob Bull, b 1756, who married Elizabeth Walker has, also, been mentioned as a possible brother of Capt John Bull. He was one of the pioneer settlers and is said to have owned a majority of land in the area of Morristown, Hamblin Co, TN. He died in 1830, and his son, Jesse Bull is the one you listed on the War of 1812
Hi Kent,
Thank you for your post on Stephen Bull.
Sharp referenced page 17 from the book on Stephen Bull - page 17 doesn't
mention a son by the name of John Bull. According to page 17 of the Stephen
Bull book, the will of Stephen Bull (b. 1707) only mentions sons, William
and Stephen by 1st wife and son William by 2nd wife. The first son William
died a couple of days after birth per page 17.

I heard one such story from Veronica Franks, who descends from John T. Bull
and wife Matilda Head of Linn Co., MO, through their son Richard T. Bull.
John T. Bull, s/o Richard Bull & Fanney Bray of Knox Co., KY, did NOT change
his family name to Turnbull when they migrated to Linn Co., MO, before 1856
when son Richard Bull married Elizabeth Pierce at Linn Co. There is a Bull
family cemetery in North Salem Twp. of Linn Co. and I have read that there
were no Turnbulls there in the 1800s. Veronica says that

Okay, a friend of mine puts it this way....
Sherry,
Lucinda's line runs backwards in time like this:
Lucinda, dau of Isaac and Nancy (Green) Bull (some Greens are
Blackfoot/Cherokee.) (Preston Bull was one of Isaac's brothers per a Miracle
family researcher).
On the 1850 Harlan Co., Ky census, Isaac Bull, 20, Ky, and Nancy Bull, 17,
Ky, lived with the William Wilson family who lived next door to Jesse Bull,
60 (b.abt.1790 Va), and his wife Jane, 56 (b.abt.1794 Va). Miracle families
are living on both side
Can anyone tell me who were parents for the subject John Ira Bull? One researcher has him b. 9 May 1961 in Bell Co., Ky, to parents Joseph Bull and Chloe Parker. Has anyone heard of Joseph & Chloe?
I have failed so far to find support for the above info. The Ancestry.com 1870 census database for Kentucky has no match for this John Bull. The LDS 1880 census database for Kentucky has no match for either a John or Ira Bull. It also has no match for parents Joseph (b. 1820-1840) or Chloe Bull.

Okay I am having a little trouble wrapping my mind around this. If the
Jesse Bull you have listed below is the father of my William Bull then that
would mean that he was about 71 when he fathered William....Just nine years
before he died.

The date of birth for Wm Bull who married Lucinda fits for him to be a son
of Jesse Brittain Bull and Margaret Pitman. Jesse Brittain Bull lived on
Brownies Creek, which is just a few miles from Wallins Creek. They're both
near the Harlan Co / Bell Co line. In 1870, Wm Bull was living w/ his
grandparents, Jesse Bull and Jane Daniel.
Jesse Brittain Bull, b 1838 is a son of Jesse Bull and Jane Daniel. He was
called Brittain and is enumerated as Brittain Bull in one or more censuses.

Hi Mary Lou,
So helpful of you to provide the full transcription from DeSaussure's 1961
book on Stephen Bull. The fact that John Bull was NOT named as one of
Stephen Bulls two sons in Stephen's Jan 1749/50 will is strong evidence that
John is NOT his son. Also, if John Bull is the age 70-79 male counted in
the household of likely son Richard Bull in 1830 Knox Co., KY, John's birth
in 1751-1760 further precludes him as a s/o Stephen Bull. (His age in 1830
COULD be in error.) John Lee Sharp probably didn
